Fortunately, this will make it that much easier to focus on Willard's basketball outlook for next season.

Snodgrass says winter sports are still on an indefinite PPD, but has not cancelled it. Spring sports are still on schedule to begin April 11th, depending on orders that change from Governor DeWine.

Snodgrass says the window for Winter Tournaments is closing but he is still calling it a postponement. He referenced the availability of sites, coaches, officials and workers be major issues as we move on. It truly sounded like he was setting it up to cancel but going to wait for DeWine to make another school closure announcement before he cancels anything.

He needs to get on with it already. It's weak to keep dropping glimmers of hope to those who don't see the bigger picture. They are not playing winter or spring sports.

With there still being a slim chance Winter Sports will continue, I'm wondering how the teams left in the tournament are practicing. 4 on 5 scrimmages in a community park, with 1 coach, To make the maximum of 10 people allowed in a group. Still can not use school facilities. Or what else could they be doing, To get prepared for the regionals. It's apparent that Snodgrass, And the OHSAA are still not sure if they should, Scratch their Watch, Or wind their A**.

Is it inconceivable to re schedule the finish of the winter sports season if we really turn the corner quickly on Covad ? Yes because schools are expected to have an extended cancellation through Easter, since when the schools are currently scheduled to come back is projected to be at the high point of the curve

Yes because schools are expected to have an extended cancellation through Easter, since when the schools are currently scheduled to come back is projected to be at the high point of the curve I want it to be possible but I feel the delayed postponement is giving false hope. In the OHSAA press conference last week JS hit on the difficulties of organizing a new date, new venue, having workers and having the participants prepared and ready to finish the tournaments. He never even touch on the tickets sales, since all original tickets were refunded and made useless. The extended delay also gives them time to work with some of their corporate sponsors who have contracts that directly fund OHSAA for benefits at the state tournaments.

I guess I don't understand how you could even consider finishing the winter sports. Wouldn't that drastically hurt the spring sports? To me it would almost single out that spring sports aren't as important as winter sports. I don't know but I'd be floored if either are played this year. Hope I'm wrong.

One could counter that the teams and athletes that are still alive in winter sports should be allowed to finish what they started this season. Spring sports have not even started.

Typical first 2 weeks of Spring Events in Northern Ohio are a joke. More cancellations than events played. DeWine has the State on lock down so it won't matter,,,meanwhile in Huron County we've had one reported case of a Cold,,,I mean Covad. Huron County has 2 confirmed cases and they report a limited number of tests. Ohio has many counties without a confirmed case but many rural counties have limited test kits. Unlike the counties with much larger cities.

I knew it was over the day they were postponed. The severity of the virus wasn't going away in a few weeks. More like months.

Well buckeyekid in Huron county a family in Norwalk was also just recently affected with the mother stating the severity of the virus. Has 4 kids who all have it and only one of them is confirmed(only one tested). It is not just a cold.

Amazing how once things are announced some people then claim to have known it all along. I feel sad for the kids who were still in winter sports.

Some people are blind, only seeing what they want to see. I told my wife and kids it was silly to think the schools would open after a month. As after that month there would be A LOT more people infected. All one had to do was see what the progression was in China....if they were interested.

Reflector says 3 Total in Huron County. Dr Acton stated today that in talking with hospitals and health departments, their are active patients all over the state that have all the symptoms of this virus but have not been tested as they do not see the need. As a result they do not become a part of the stats.
