Has anyone heard how this is going down? I have seen it different dates and times and heard they may separate all 3 divisions this year.

100% virus and finding a suitable location and date to work for everyone.

100% virus and finding a suitable location and date to work for everyone. I find this hard to believe. Wrestling doesn’t change. You have the same amount of weight classes. Sports force was able to host a huge OAC tournament. Norwalk has 2 gyms. Make it like the biddy days. Split sessions. Stream it. Parents only for the finals or something. Not having a “true SBC” champ is crap.

Over riding the "crap" part is the SBC having 3 Divisions done by size of school. The OAC is comprised of schools that are all DI. The SBC schools are DI, DII and DIII. The intelligent way to do it would be to have 2 SBC tournaments. The Lake and the River tournaments, schools in the Bay to decide which tournament they want to wrestle in. The decision made before the start of the school year. Once transfers are in.

They could never leave it up to the Bay schools to choose Lake or River SBC tournament. Edison would pick River, And continue to Boo Hoo that they're not in the River League for all sports, Especially Freshman football.

Lake schools have no option to run. They must sit and wait to see which Bay schools choose to move up.

Comparing colleges, biddys and club wrestling to high school won't get you far. Spend your time looking for high school leagues to compare to.

I was comparing it to use for the size - using sports force to hold the entire SBC would be logical and great location. Lake schools don’t want to have their ***** handed to them by the small schools. Again

How would Lake schools be having their ***** handed to them if "small" schools want to have their SBC DIVISION Championship separately like in football, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball??? THINK about it

Cost is a huge factor. I think it would be a yes across the board about having sports force hosting it at a reasonable rate.
However, it is not cost effective to have it there. Plus they (Sports Force) would have to the weekend open.
It has been discussed.

Plus they (Sports Force) would have to the weekend open. It has been discussed. I think a majority of the Bay schools could hang. They deserve the option. I want to know why it was decided the lake division was so superior to have their own SBC championship.

Who decided that and said the reason was superiority??

Edison wrestling would take the whole conference on and win it like they have the last four years out right.

How many of the Edison wrestlers are actually from Milan? 106,120,152,182,195,220,285 are from Milan. The rest either moved in for wrestling or drive there. So the way it looks to me is Edison wouldn't be half the team they are without transfers. The rest of the SBC, teams like Bellevue, Oak Harbor, Clyde etc are all home grown kids. Edison wouldn't have beaten any of those D1 and D2 teams without transfers this is how that team is built.

But you are incorrect about all those schools above having homegrown kids. I know two schools above that have transfers for wrestling. Some schools are so poor in supporting wrestling that if your kid is committed he has to transfer. My youngest son got half his points for his middle school schedule this year at his home school. We will probably be looking in a couple years for a school that supports wrestling.

sounds like scout has sour grapes about kids who are from milan add berlin hts scout plus we dont recruit kids.the kids come because they want to come to a good wrestling program. coach hermes is an administrator as he is principle of edison elementary and he knows not to recruit. when you got a good program, kids will come if not they wont. we have tradition in wrestling going back to the 70s.great coaches like dave kile, back in my years of 73-74,paul haueptle, pat welfle and now dave hermes. so scout we dont cheat.you either sour grapes or is jealous.

Trolling.....,,, Scout is a new handle with one post. I got a feeling he is from Willard and enjoyed 25 good years of High School Basketball under Haas and all the “home grown” move ins and transfers they got.

If my kid stands half a chance to get the kind of wrestling coaching that Edison has I'm taking him there. They have a premier program and their coaching and community support is gold. Whomever is bashing it is just envious they can't build it in their community.
