I see a lot of people picking Huron in this one but Huron is def in a rebuilding year and ST. Paul is always tough and well prepared. Plan to watch the Tigers tonight against Clyde (weather permitting) but anyone know was ST. Paul brings this year?

well hhsfan90 st.paul scrimmaged keystone last week and keystone is favored in the lorain county 8 and in the region so this is not going to be one of the usual powerful st.paul teams. we will find out a little more when st.paul travels to edison for the final srimmage.hopefully the weather will hold up.

I always viewed this series as neat. Top-tier D7 vs. Consistently Solid-Above Average D4-D5. A pretty good matchup.

Saw Huron and Clyde. Huron will put it together and I think they can force St. Paul to play in space which might be to Huron's advantage.
I'll take Huron 28-21

I've never liked this series. St. Paul's has everything gain for the playoffs, Especially if Huron has a decent year. In it for Huron is saving diesel fuel cause it's a short bus trip. I'd rather the Tigers have to go to Cincinnati to play Roger Bacon again, It's our turn to go there, I'd go.

Who wants to drive to Cincinnati for a regular season non conference game? Rather play a MAC school then do that IMO.

So can be a good point picker upper... plus familes know one another...coaches all know one another... makes for a great back yard game...

Huron was their own worst enemy in this game. 99yrd fumble return. Another fumble at the 1. Two TDs called back by penalties!! What a disaster. Steiiber from Flyers was everywhere on that field making plays on offense and defense.

Huron had 2 TD's called back by Penalties, And 2 Fumbles near the goal line, 1 returned 98 yards for a TD. Both teams didn't look very good to me.

Bigger division vs small division seems to have warped the minds of many. SP does not care. If anything, they play harder. Love seeing them get this win or any other vs "big schools".

The reason for divisions is give smaller schools a shot. Of course St. Paul don’t mind. They’ve never had to follow the rules other “small schools” have to follow. In general, the more boys you have the better the chances of fielding a good football team. It’s definitely not a guarantee that the bigger school wins.

Hardin Northern, Hopewell-Louden, Marion Local et Al didn't have the luxury of these rules, but had no problem kicking Flyers ssa.

We (Huron) asked them two years ago if they wanted to play.. They're well coached, I have always respected the work John Livengood and his staff puts in.. I also understand rather it be private or public.. If your program is solid, they will come.. rather its by open enrollment or another way. It is the nature of the beast... far as the game goes.. Huron ran up and down the field most of the night... but if you don't cross the goal line, it doesn't matter much.. It for sure is not any easier next week... we just can't repeat those mistakes....
