I'm only expecting a top 3 finish in moac, was expecting first untill 2 starters stopped playing. But still gonna enjoy the basketball season. It flys by. 1 game means nothing. Should be an interesting season of positives and negatives.

I'm going to say pleasant is my pick right now. They have size. Harding plays orange next game another tough team that'll beat Harding. Then it's moac time. I'm going to catch the pleasant vs Delaware Hayes game tonight. I watched Pleasant scrimmage twice....they aren't as good as everyone thinks they will be

I don't get on this thing much. But I'm a NU fan lol. But was at Harding game last night and they should be fine. Sophomore pg at olentangy can fill it up dropped 27. And I'm not very big on pleasant myself. Nico graduated and that was their team.

Tonight will be my first time watching pleasant this year against a pretty good Hayes team. They have a solid d2 bound player. I'll see what pleasant has to offer tonight.

Hayes looks to be a 1 man wrecking crew with yoakum, wasn't impressed with pleasant just yoakum was a do it all for Hayes. Pleasant did make some nice plays on both sides.

So I agree with you Jed, pleasant wasn't very impressive. They have size. But yoakum for Hayes about beat them single handedly

Will is the real deal for Hayes. Pleasant hung around close enough to make one more play than Hayes. Hayes at BV tonight. Hope it is as good as last night. I might put 2 guys on Yoakum and don't let him touch it.

Hayes had no one beside him and stuck around still. Maybe bv takes down Hayes too who knows. They aren't very good at all. But yoakum can fill it up. He adds some weight and he's gonna be really good

Expect bv to finish torward bottom of moac. Can't beat a team lead single handedly by one player. He just beats them by himself.

BV had the lead all of the 1st half. Helped by Yoakum being on bench with foul trouble. Down 2 end of 3. Fell apart in 4th. Big kid killed them more than Yoakum. BV shot 3-20 from 3 point line. Never looked inside. too many TO from guards.

Buckeye Valley will finish ahead of RV. Without Pugh you guys may be right about Alder but I still think they will be able to compete for the top spot. Galion did not just lose Blair, they lost everyone. We graduated 7 seniors. The only full time varsity player returning is galiontigers son, Chase Cooke. That means we will have to use players from our JV team that won I think 7 games last year. There will probably be at least 2 sophomores and 1 freshman on varsity. And the freshman will be the starting PG. Chase Cooke is not playing this year due to the firing of Coach Bright. His decision not mine. I like watching basketball. This would have been a lot better year for him to showcase his basketball skills. But it was for not, he was deeply disappointed that Coach Bright stepped down. He came right in that day and told me...said, "I'm not playing for now." I was like "ok..your decision; I'm ok with it." Plus I think he was a little worried about his knee too that cemented his decision. Honestly, he didn't really want to go out last year, but Coach Bright convinced him. I wish Galion the best though. They are really going to struggle, and they would have really struggled with Chase on the team too. You will see Chase in baseball this year though. I'm excited about that.

GT had hope in a team that was lucky to win a game lol, Harding basketball will have around a .500 season. Replacing 3 starters is tough. They'll be fine once they start playing moac lol. After one loss and the thoughts of some reasonable knowledgeable people, Harding has fallen to average. Kinda like galiontiger after seeing Galion's first loss. The bottom didn't fall out until after his son's injury. Hey! WF....I had faith in my team (football). They had the pieces to be a better team than what we turned out to be. It was trying season though, but we ended up with a great game against Pleasant. We finally put up some points, broke a record with like under a minute to go and had a blast at that game. Go Tigers now in basketball! I'm pulling for them to surprise some teams.

I'll reserve making any predictions about BV until I know who goes out. They obviously lose a lot from last years team. They should have more overall size this year, but it will be a lot of unproven talent. How their younger kids develop and how quickly will determine how good they can be. That, and how quickly and good their leadership develops will make or break their season. Ironically, that would mirror the concerns I had for their football team. The difference between the two though is I would have much more confidence in the basketball staff than the football staff. That's why I would say they'll always be in the mix. That, and as some of you have already said, their student section creates a tremendous home court advantage. "their student section" Yup, what BV is known for a great girl's discus thrower, a great, great golfer, an excellent cross country runner and the best/loudest cheering section in the state.

BV got rolled 59-35 I think was final. Not ever close. Too many 3's being shot and can't handle the rock. It's either a TO or a missed 3.

This season could produce life long memories and experiences ..... Now maybe he can sit in the stands, cheer and try to exceed the BV cheering section. Have fun!

BV hasn't tried to work the ball into a big man for the last 15 years. Transition game, 3 point game is what they live by ..... Who in their right mind would think they would change now? Telling you, the MOAC is just a weak hoops league at best. Put your money on Pleasant, if they have some size they'll be respectable. Pleasant kids ALWAYS compete and their head hoops guy is easily the best coach in the conference.

New to this site, but as a fan of MOAC basketball through the years, I can't help but comment on some of these posts.
1. MOAC is really weak this season. Pleasant had a nice win vs. a below average OCC team in Hayes. Hayes will get demolished in OCC play. Pleasant stands around too much on offense in my opinion and is not discipline on defense. Bad loss last night vs. Northmoor.
2. BV has won the league 5 out of the last 6 seasons. They are one of the best coached teams in the league. They lost 6 senior guards from last year's team. They are rebuilding. If you have watched them play in the two games this season, they lack scoring threats and they certainly don't have anyone who can score inside. Their big man inside played JV as a junior and is soft and weak even though he is tall. Obviously, some of you haven't paid attention that much in the past because about 4 years ago when they had the Crawford kid inside and Tomlinson and Clark as the guards and they killed teams feeding the ball into Crawford. Since the Crawford kid, they have not had any true post players thus they play the way they do. They will compete and play as hard as any team in the league and I see them getting better as the year progresses but it will take some time with so many new players.
3. Alder and Harding are also very well-coached and will be right in the mix. Both teams are organized and play solid defense. The Ellis kid for Harding is a very solid player and so is the Koening kid from Alder. Questions remain about the players around both of these guys on their respective teams.
4. RV, Galion are very down this season.
*Weak season for MOAC. Don't see much success in the tournament either for any of these teams.

Welcome to the site brownsguy. It's nice to have another poster. I like your analysis of the conference. This is just our third year in the conference and this season might be the weakest conference we've been part of recently. The first couple years were decent but this year it does not look good at all. It would've been a good year for us to compete for the top but we are also really down and will finish in one of the bottom spots.

I still can't believe a Pleasant could be beat by a Northmor. Does Northmor have that good of a team? Doesn't the Craycraft boys still play for Pleasant? I couldn't believe reading that score.

I haven't seen Northmor but in shootouts and camps, but they don't look like the bad Northmor anymore. Have a couple bigs who run floor well and guards who who push it. Shows the power in divisions may have changed. Mt. G rolled RV last week.

Geez that's surprising. Play orange to the final buzzer but only 10 points in 1 half against alder.
