Tiffin will be the team to beat(Prediction)
1.Tiffin- return tons of talent and shooters 2. Sandusky- return a solid core group and depth, but no size and lack consistent shooters 3. Perkins- return some nice players, Rowe, Venurruci 4.Norwalk-loss of Chapin will be huge, but Gray always has teams play above their talent level 5. Clyde- scrappy bunch who could surprise teams 6. Bellevue, I think they will be much improved
I could see 2 thru 5 being different every week, I think any of those teams can beat each other on any given night. I even think Tiffin will lose a couple league games but they will still finish on top at the end. I think this might be the most balanced year for Lake division overall.

My prediction is the Willard thread will reach mid twenty pages. you're selling it way short. An upset loss alone gets 15

Will there be any players from each division that will stick out from the rest to watch for during this season?

Bellevue 3rd? Is that a typo? Will the early football exit help the Bellevue hoopsters?

It should, This is close to being the earliest Bellevue has ever started Basketball practice this early in the season. Usually there still practicing football. I'll bet the basketball coaches wasn't prepared to start this soon.

^^ If true, and I seriously doubt it is,Bellevue has a **** poor coach. I'm sure they were prepared to start practice. I'm hardly a Bellevue fan.

Bellevue only returns 2 players from their 10 man rotation from last year. However, they were probably their best 2 players. Ray and Horn. Bellevue hasn't had a winning record in Rich's tenure and their highest placing was 4th in the swan song of the NOL which was Rich's 2nd year back in 2016-17. I actually like Bellevue as a potential sleeper pick. I also could see Perkins being a sleeper pick if everyone goes out. They will have a nice frontline and McVeigh is good at controlling tempo and their players got some experience playing without Siegel at times last year. Norwalk should have a physical group. Clyde should have a very talented and athletic group. Tiffin should have enough talent to dominate and run the table but people said that last year and they had to squeak one out vs Norwalk in the final game last year in order to get a share of the league.
The Bay should be interesting in it's own way. I'd think there will be a huge talent gap between PC, OH, and Edison at the bottom, and then Willard, Margaretta and Huron should be some fun matchups at the top. The Batman's Leibacher at Margaretta, Hohler at Huron and Paxton at Willard should make for some fun alpha male showdowns. Who's robin is best may be what decides it all. Willard has a good one in the sophomore, but they graduated all their size. I'm looking forward to being able to watch some of those matchups this year.

I think Sandusky will be in the mix this year. There are plenty of unknowns with them, but they do return a lot of guys who took down Tiffin last year. If Moore coaches a style like he played, they will be fun to watch. It will be interesting to see what happens down the road at Perkins. Will the confidence gained in fall sports carry over to the hardwood? Learning how to win is important, but at the end of the day is there any basketball talent?

Although I agree with most of this post, when looking at the Bay Division I'm not so sure PC is that far behind talent wise. In fact, I think they played Huron, Margaretta, and OH pretty close during the 2nd half of the season last year, maybe even beat 1 or 2 of them and I think they return their best 3 players....including a 1st Team all-SBC Junior (this year). I think they contend for a league title and will surprise many.

Regarding football to basketball transition...
The extra week of football was taken from the pre season, not the winter sports season.
Schools who missed the playoffs are actually gaining a week of buffer between football and basketball (because week 10 was played when week 9 used to be)
Schools who lost in the first round of the playoffs this year are ending their seasons at the same time non playoff teams used to finish.
Every round of the playoff from here on out finishes at the same time as before. The state semis are still Thanksgiving weekend and the finals are still the first weekend of December.

Talent gap with PC, PC is my pick to win the Bay, they return almost everyone. They will very good.

If my memory serves me correctly. Last season, Port Clinton won at Huron, and at Margaretta. That was a 1st for the Redskins in a lot of years, Then lost to both at Home. P.C. should be decent, After the football season ends, With that State Championship trophy for our area.
