Western Reserve over Norwalk also 50-40 Do I dare say FC owns the SBC Lake tonight.......... Norwalk is 3-6 in their last nine games. Not what you want going into the tournament. Could finish out at 3-8.

Well someone is taking a loss… Tiffin Calvert at Western Reserve next Saturday night Love it. Both teams could have just prepared for the playoffs by practicing, etc. What a game that will be at WR. Credit to both coaches and their players for pulling the trigger on this.

I know Port Clinton got a very late start due to their run in football but I really thought they would’ve hit their stride and gotten better by now.
For everyone who said that Columbian was the clear favorite before the season started, I’d say that Sandusky and Clyde played above their potential and may be a building block for next season.

I think Bellevue will be the 4th team that makes it to the Ashland District. Norwalk is to inconsistent and Bellevue has already beaten Upper Sandusky Bellevue in the District? Anyone know the last time that happened? the '90s?

Bellevue in the District? Anyone know the last time that happened? the '90s? 2010 is the last one I know for sure. Beat Willard in the semis, lost to state bound Port Clinton in the final. Bellevue had a Rhulman kid who got injured in the 2nd half who was only 3 or 4 points away from 1,000. With around 2 minutes left and PC ahead by 10 or so Raif called a timeout and talked to the PC coach...and then PC let Rhulman hobble out there and score 2 easy layups before the game was over, with us letting PC score in between them. This was also the last time Bellevue won a league title (tri-share with TC and Shelby) The last time Bellevue won a district title was 2002.

What is wrong with Lakota? They scored a whopping 2 points in the first HALF against Calvert last weekend (31-2 at halftime). Two points. How is that even possible for a varsity basketball team?

Norwalk is 3-6 in their last nine games. Not what you want going into the tournament. Could finish out at 3-8. They very well could. But they have also played a tough schedule during that stretch. The losses are to Sandusky 17-4 (x2), Western Reserve 19-0, Huron 17-2, Clyde 12-9. Perkins is the only bad loss. But we've kind of known Norwalk is average all along. Lexington is the same way, only more extreme. Just like Norwalk, they are 3-6 in their last 9 (tough) games. Early in the year they had impressive non-league wins and now they are losing their tough games and also losing to teams they beat the first time around in league play. Clyde and New Phily as non league wins early in the year, but losing to CC, OG and Tiffin in the second half of the year. Beating Ashland and Madison the first time but losing to the them the second time. They are trending in the wrong direction. Tonight's game vs MV (another team they beat the first time around) is huge for them, not only for trying to win their league, but also for momentum into the tournament. Lex is a little different than Norwalk because of the high expectations for Lex...but 3-6 is 3-6. I hope the Lex game is on WMFD tonight, but I doubt it is since it's away.

Exactly right that 3-6 is the same as 3-6. This difference is when one of them is playing three D1 schools in that stretch that all have winning records. one of which beat Norwalk at home. Lex playing those in conference D1 schools, is always tough going down the stretch. Specially when you know that the first game wins were close enough that either could have won. After seeing many games in the area, OG could win the SBC, OCC, MOAC, Firelands and the N10 with little doubt in my mind.

Nice spin cycle.
If you beat teams in the first half of the year and lost to the same teams in the second half of the year you aren't getting better. With that being said, I think Huron, Shelby and Lex can get out of the district. I'd be shocked to see others get out, but I have seen some teams play more than others. Is the game on WMFD tonight? Tonight is a big game for Lex, don't you agree?

A lot going on for the SBC. Huron and Margaretta will be playing for the right to be co-champs of the Bay Division on Friday night. Huge game on Saturday between Tiffin Calvert and Western Reserve who are both undefeated and state ranked and assuming Western wins on Friday night against New London they will also be putting their 37 home game winning streak on the line.

They limp into the post season at 13-9 after being 5-0, 8-1, and and 10-2. Luckily they get Clear Fork for a sectional title. They should get a round 2 vs Shelby in districts.
