That’s just for the first weekend games are all over. It’s the South Region because the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 are in San Antonio for the south region.

This is the first time Ohio State has been a 7 seed. The Buckeyes have now been seeded everywhere from 1 to 11 in program history. South region in Pittsburgh The region names correspond to where the regional sites are in the second weekend. The South Regional games will be in San Antonio. The opening weekend rounds can be pretty much anywhere, though tend to favor travel to the higher seeds as much as possible.

They’ve been using pods since 2003 for the first weekend. I’m surprised people didn’t know that.

The yinzers are as south as the Indianapolis Colts are, I am sure.
OSU is screwed because they are playing Loyola Chicago. Who is closer to being with Christ than the 100 year nun, Sister Jean? That's bad news up and down.
My Friars are currently a -2.5 favorite over South Dakota State. Every other 4-seed is a 14, 7.5, and 6.5 favorite over their 14-seeds. This is the best we've been seeded, but the next highest was in 2004 when the #5 seed Friars lost to #12 Pacific. I'm not scared. Or anxious. I promise.

Denver Colorado and Columbus OH are on essentially the same latitude.

A game of interest tonight at 9:10 is two 12 seeds, Indiana(20-13) vs. Wyoming(25-8) Indiana played incredibly well in the B1G Tournament, the Iowa game was perhaps the best game in the tournament. The Hoosiers are 4 pt. favorites.

Well, watching last nights Indiana vs. Wyoming game, quickly revealed why both teams are 12 seeds, despite have 20 and 25 win seasons. Very ragged basketball at best.

If anyone is pulling for Ohio's Wright State, I have some info on Bryant University from my days as a Rhode Islander. Some of my family wanted me to go there. Made sense, my parents lived about 4-5 miles down the road from there when I was born.
Bryant is about 15 minutes from Providence College, located right in the middle of nowhere. Good luck with cell service if you go a half mile north. It's a pretty business-centric school. They are quite literally across the street from the corporate offices for Fidelity Investments, which explains that strength. Their accounting program was pretty good. We always viewed them as dorks. Smart, but dorks. They sent a ton of kids into tax, Providence sent kids to audit. Jim Furyk went there. Providence is ranked pretty highly each year in alcohol consumption rankings and was viewed as the quintessential party school in New England. Bryant is filled with the kids who wanted to skip that scene. A Bryant girl invited me to her sorority formal, so I got a good look at things over there.
Peter Kiss is the anti-Bryant student, by all accounts.

He was also co-offensive player of the year in his division for football as well as a finalist for Mr Football. Urban recruited him to play football at OSU. He played on Wheelersburg’s 16-0 state championship team. Scored 37 in the win.

If the game between the two 12 seeds is an indicator for the entire tournament, then this year should be awesome.

Those 12 vs 5 matchups are always killers.

The 12 vs 5 strikes again as Indiana is getting blown out by St Mary’s and New Mexico St upsets UConn.

HAs anyone heard if the Buckeyes are all healthy for tomorrow? Key, Young, Johnson? From what I saw Young and Key are game time decisions according to Holtmann. Johnson is good to go.

I don't expect to see Key on the floor tonight. You need to be able to cut and go up strong, don't think he can do either. I expect Kyle Young to return. Someone please get him a playing helmet. (do they do that?)

One day in and already 4-5 upsets, and 3 of them are major. Is this due to a covid year? IS the committee out of touch? Or multiple Cinderella stories?
I was cheering for another with Akron.

Great defensive effort by the Buckeyes! Nice job changing man coverages all game long. Loyola got few open looks.

Due to there not being any great teams and a lot of above average teams. AND that NCAA bonus year, used more at the mid-majors than the major programs
