Our area is finished up Congratulations locals. Colonel Crawford, Tiffin Calvert, Huron, Margaretta on making the Regional Tournament. That is a incredible accomplishment for your schools.
Next Year. Who should we be keeping a big eye on?

Favorites by league
SBC Lake: Sandusky followed by Tiffin, Bellevue Bay: Huron followed by Willard River: Don't follow that closely. May be more open as most teams were senior heavy. OCC. Always competitive but it should be a year for Lex to finish on top. Firelands: South Central, Monroeville MOAC. Shelby N10 Carey, Mohawk, and Upper will all be able to compete better with CC.
I'd say Lex would be the early favorite in d2 South district, toledo CC again in the west, huron a heavy favorite in d3 and again the d4s pretty wide open.
I don't see any local teams making a long run next year. Lots of graduating talent.
One thing of note is that all but 1 of the players that were first team all NW Ohio players in D2 were underclassmen except for the point guard from Lima Shawnee.

Tiffin should be the favorite with what they have returning but I agree Bellevue is the sleeper and Sandusky will be solid but will have a lot of young guys playing varsity.

Marion Local Defiance will return all 5 starters and a couple other kids in their rotation from a 15-7 team that finished in 2nd place in the WBL. St. Marys loses both starting guards but returns the third guard that played a lot along with that big front line. O-G also has a 6'8" eighth grader so the rich will get richer. Wouldn't be surprised if Rossford adds another player.

AND according to to Coach Sheldon, what he's most jealous of OG is....they have 3 Middle School teams feeding players into their high school program. 15 starters every year he says.

Why does a small school like OG need 3 middle schools? OG is made up of two towns, Ottawa and Glandorf. Ottawa also has a catholic elementary/middle school.

Just a random anecdote about Ottawa. My mom's cousin is the Catholic priest for their parish. He tells me at family gatherings that they would see a Lima CC and OG matchup as silly, as the OG team has more Catholics than Lima CC...his words not mine!

Why does a small school like OG need 3 middle schools? Putnam County is heavily catholic and while O-G is a public school they have a dedicated catholic school in Saints Peter and Paul School to go along with K-8 schools in Ottawa and Glandorf that feed into OGHS. Leipsic and Columbus Grove have catholic K-8 schools as well to go along with the public schools.

Most of the MAC schools have more Catholics than any of Hartley, DeSales, Toledo CC, etc

Seriously?? CC is fed by 5-6 middle schools? I find this hard to believe. Do they all have 7th and 8th bball? If so they must be awfully small middle schools or CC would be D1 as opposed to D3.

This quote goes right back to what he said about Upper Sandusky a few years ago when he said that Upper was a really good DII team playing DIII and DIV teams. He should be glad that he could get Valentine to play for CC. Sheldon probably wouldn't be as dominate if Valentine stayed in Galion, yes they would win the N10 and make a run in the tournament but I don't think they would go undefeated the last two years. It's just the area that OG is located, CC is surrounded by many schools and yes CC has open enrollment and kids could go there, but don't make that as an excuse for losing to OG.

Final enrollment numbers have been posted. Once the CB totals have been added in the OHSAA will set the divisions.

He could be compared to current player that just hit the portal. Plays at a high level for a smaller school. I did see he has offers from Toledo and at least 1 D2 school.

Watched him 2x at State, and that kid can play. Plus he's got 2 years to get even better. He had a one of the better dunks that weekend too.

When he reaches college his game will likely change. Ahrens had an offer from Ohio State after his soph season. I'm sure some will be coming White's way.

Summer league coverage is nice and all but yeah, it's summer league! I think Tiffin is going to have something to say about the league title, bringing back the best player in the league and speaking of summer league, dropped 43 yesterday while one of the twins had 36 in another game. I cannot believe I am actually recapping summer league!

Columbian should be pretty strong with Logan Beaston, Brayden Roggow, and Bryce Roggow at the top. They should have some nice players close behind with Isaac Garcia and Zach Shawberry.

I know Harvest Prep gets talked about a lot come tournament time for basketball. I just read that the MSL in central Ohio is breaking up to form another league without Harvest Prep and will be starting in the 23-24 school year. LOL

LOL If this happens were would they go for league play? Have to be independent at that point. A Harvest Prep administrator says that the other schools wish to no longer compete against our school. Compete with our school that takes your talent more like it. Lol
