Aaaah hell, come to Michigan. We are anywhere from $4.81 to $5.19 in the SE corner counties (Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne.) Our governor, rather than removing the state sales tax or fuel tax, would rather ***** about it and push the blame towards the federal government and wants them to remove their fuel tax. She is the same numb nut who ran on a "Fix the damn roads" agenda, but didn't give two poops about it until it was re-election time (so we have had projects going full blast for the past few months, but had little to nothing prior.) Earlier in her term, as she was realizing she better deliver on the "fix the damn roads" promise, she tried to jack up the fuel tax by 45 cents a gallon to fund it, although there was no mention of new taxes to pay for it during the campaign. Her constituents blew a left testicle and she backed off... Add to this some of her other political flukes and hopefully she is outta here next election. During the height of COVID, and a state travel lockdown, she sent her husband north to the Traverse City area, to get their boat out of drydock and to get it ready for the summer... You should have heard the constituents go off on that one, once the local folks found out what he was up to. At one point, we thought Biden was going to take her as his running mate, but I think one of the Democratic higher ups realized she was a bigger liability than her femaleness was worth (yes-I'm saying her political value was her gender.) Sorry, I am rambling on, but there are days that she or one of her staff gets on the news and all I can do is shake my head and try to protect my wallet.
I'll give you that one, however my name was my claim to fame back in the 90's when I was looking at moving back. Strange things happened to keep me here and even now I consider myself a displaced Buckeye. I'm in a pretty large house which allowed my in-laws to come live with us (health issues,) with an in ground pool and on a smallmouth and pike stream just about 6 miles off of Lake Erie. Michigan is where I am supposed to be, and I love rubbing in my Ohioness with my friends here, and especially those who are hardcore TSUN fans. I'm trying to bring the goodness that is the Ohio State University to those who would not be ...
