I don't see Gibsonburg winning the league this year. Just read in the Press they lost a lot from last year. Gburg only has 3 offensive starters back and only 29 players with 3 out with injuries for some time. I guess that's why they went to D7. I think Hopewell or Margaretta will be 1st, Calvert 3rd, Gburg 4th, Lakota 5th and St Joe 6th.

Calvert looked pretty good once they got going last night and they start mostly underclassmen. And they are huge on both sides of the ball. I counted 28 of their 45 players (that size roster for their size of school is crazy) being over 6ft tall and 18 of them over 220 pounds. They start two freshman twins on the line and one is 6-3, 268 and the other is 6-4, 303. Future looks bright.

It actually does now with the competitive balance number

Number of players on the team has nothing to do with Division placement. It actually does now with the competitive balance number I thought competitive balance was based on how many students enrolled from outside the school district.

What is NOT considered is the quality of the athlete. They all count the same, it does not matter if they are All-Ohio caliber, All-League caliber OR just standing on the sideline never playing in games. Ontario for example, their CB number is 19. Obviously kids don't open enroll or move to Ontario for football, they come for the academics. And some say, what the heck, let's try football.

Sure it does, enrollment is the starting number, then an adder is made based on kids that open enroll of move after the 6th grade that play the sport.

Looking ahead - what in the heck is wrong with Woodmore? They can’t even beat North Central, who was playing their first ever game? Or even score? Doesn’t look like a good edition to the River.
