People forget, Huron has the most SBC basketball championships of any school in the league. Regarding football, It's safe to say the football program has fallen off a bit since Legando left, but I attribute this more to a drop in enrollment than a change in the coaching regime. Oddly enough, the basketball success has remained constant, with numerous league titles and district championships in the last decade. As for the lack of support from Tiger fans, I never understood that aspect. Volleyball and Basketball seems to draw a nice crowd, especially for bigger games and postseason, but the football team never does. Sportsvideo would have more color on that as a long time supporter. Go Tigers IMO having been a 00 graduate of Huron, it was more burnout then anything. It was the same song and dance each season with Huron and it just got forced on you or crammed down your throat and after a while it just got old and even if they were having a good season, the diehard fans had long disappeared from the stands. So as it is now I think they are more of a basketball school.

I’d still say it’s a good game and matchup but I’d consider the bigger games as more of when a league title is on the line or the bigger playoff games. Lima CC was neither of those. I look at that game the same as Norwalk St. Paul, a good early season matchup.

Sad to say, but the interest in football is dying a slow death in Huron. Sure wish that wasn't so.

Interesting thing I would like to see…. How would the likes of Huron from 2001-2004 fair against the league the last few years. IMO they would absolutely roll. They have dropped off a bit, but let’s be honest they have fielded some of the best teams in the last 22 years in the SBC.

i must have missed this season.. football in huron is dying? went 9-3 and we're dying season before 6-5, season before 7-1? Bellevue this year 7-5, last year 8-3 , dying as well i guess. oh well everyone has to die sooner or later.

Won some huge games along the way. Huron just doesn’t have that swagger they used to in football.

Most points scored ever for Huron in one season.. they lost two games by 1 point in the regular season.. thats not exactly bad. last time huron won a regional title was 1998.. have won the league several times after that.. no matter how you slice it..robert dence went no more than 2 rounds in the playoffs, cody thompson regional runner up to coldwater but did not win the sbc.. in fact.. the best team huron had 1993 did not win the sbc. yet went to state finals.

Port clinton, oak harbor did not fill their stands when we played them..

Not trying to bash the team. They're out there playing their hearts out. I know some of the kids that are playing for Huron, and one of the coaches, I just wish there was more support for them.

I have more away games if you'd like to see... seems they don't travel too well

didn't accomplish anything as the water/ball boy, either. Regardless, get ready; Blooders better get ready for Cougar action Glenville by 4 scores then Van Wert to the middle of pack in the WBL next year Historically, Van Wert has been mediocre at best in Football and Basketball in WBL. But, when Cougars rise to WBL top, they take advantage of WBL preparation and do well in Postseason. Ask Willard Basketball in 76, 87, and 90

looks like plenty of seats in week 2 for perkins at huron 2018.. This by no means is a perkins bash, its a reality across the SBC.. everyone is losing at the gate.. i must have missed this season.. football in huron is dying? went 9-3 and we're dying season before 6-5, season before 7-1? Better quit while you're ahead piratefan i have been at many of pirate games home and away over the last several years where there was plenty of seats available. while i think Huron in the early 2000's was really good and now just good. it goes in waves for everyone. to think they're virtually a Division 6 playing 3-4-5 is pretty impressive. I don't see D-2 on Perkins schedule. Non conference the pirates are playing 2 to 3 divisions lower.

VW’s run gonna come to an end vs Glenville tonight. I’m biased but Perkins should feel confident in their chances next year. Theyoutgained VW by a couple hundred yards and VW had a chance to shock the world until late in the game tonight.
Lot of crazy talk on this forum the last couple weeks. That VW team deserves their flowers, they were legit.

I respect the hell out of VW but the conditions tonight tamed Glenville’s speed and their four turnovers gave the Cougars a shot to do the unthinkable.

Hell of a game by VW. Pratt missed a few deep balls that I’m sure he’d like back, but nonetheless in kingmartinez words, “tip of the cap.”

And that my friends is the beauty of football in November. Turnovers, poor conditions, injuries, etc, are all a part of the game.
We could say VW got breaks with TO’s, cold weather, and about 13.49 other things. The short and curly is you either meet and exceed the expectations or you don’t. They surely did and came up short.
We all talked, myself included, about how good Glenville is and saw them get tested by VW and very well could have lost. I guess we will find out if they can keep this magic going come this Saturday in the state semi’s.
My position, when it comes to this time of the season you’re not going to scare anyone solely based on your team name.

My guess is Glenville will be playing Big Red in the state championship game next weekend. My guess is this happens Big Red takes the state championship.
