Very sad news to hear that Bob Haas has passed away. One of the legendary coaches in Ohio high school basketball. One of the nicest guys ever too.

RIP Coach Haas. I remember some great games between the Crimson Flashes and the Minutemen. Sympathies with the Willard community.

When your rivals and the people you beat have nothing but good things to say about you that’s something. Respect 🙏🏼.

I know a lot of people here in Upper didn't like him, but the fact of the matter was...he was a very, very, VERY nice human being. He got the better of us more than a few times, but he was always way beyond respectful of what we brought to the table.

Dreaded playing against his teams back in my HS days. But you had to respect what he was able to accomplish over a long period of time. RIP Coach Haas.

I heard this from a friend and just read his Obituary that his funeral will have no officiating. I don't know why, but genius!

I read the article Joe wrote. I’m assuming you’re referring to the “recruiting part”. We used to hear that about him recruiting out his Johnson. It had no truth to it.. great programs draw them in. By being great programs.

I realize Centers often gets criticism, but I didn't sense jealousy in the article. If anything, I believe the point was to clear Willard and the late Coach Haas of any wrongdoing
I was going to say what sportsvideo stated; anything solid will sell themselves

I disagree with the point of the article was to clear Willard and Coach Haas of any wrongdoing. Why even bring it up at all when you are trying to write an article honoring him. **** poor journalism IMO but the Norwalk paper has a long history of that so I shouldn't be surprised.

I would find it fascinating to listen to old Willardites favorite Coach Haas stories. I mention this because I saw ScarletFever in person today, and it was a pleasure hearing his.

Willard/Bellevue (Bob Haas/Mark Shine) was perhaps the greatest rivalry in Ohio during that era.

Willard/Bellevue (Bob Haas/Mark Shine) was perhaps the greatest rivalry in Ohio during that era. Famous words from Coach Shine from early 80s... "We were undefeated except Willard. "
