This is a 2 team region. Glenville and Perkins will put running clocks on every team they play until regional final.

This is a 2 team region. Glenville and Perkins will put running clocks on every team they play until regional final. I would agree, however, if any key players for both teams were to get injured, I would not just assume running clocks across the board. Its actually a pretty weak and mediocre region outside of Glenville and Perkins right now, Shelby would be up there if they were a little more consistent, but really, I don't see many threats to those two teams if they are healthy.

Well, ya can’t predict injuries. Obviously if a QB went down that would hurt just about ANY team’s chances. We will go with what the teams look like now, for the sake of this discussion. Glenville and Perkins are levels above the rest of this region. This is a 2 team region. Glenville and Perkins will put running clocks on every team they play until regional final. Definitely a two horse race between Glenville and Perkins. The most intriguing thing we could see in this region a home team beside the top two could lose in the 1st round. I could see Bryan, Bath, Napoleon, St. Marys, or Firelands pulling off a first round win

I lot of bad teams make the playoffs when you let 16 of 23 teams into the playoffs. Participation ribbons for everyone.

They let ALL of the "bad" teams play in basketball. They even let them play on school nights. Ask Bellevue about those "bad" teams in the 1st round. Participation is a GOOD thing for those that are willing.

Apples to oranges.
The risk of injury is far greater in football. A number one seed headed to the finals could lose a key player in a meaningless blowout.
You can only play one football game per week. You can play a least two basketball games a week.

The final week of the season always ruffles the playoff seedings more than I anticipate, but it seems as though Shelby will wind up with the #3 seed when Week 10 ends. I trust Drew Pasteur's math enough to forecast a little on it.
The top 4, based on generally likely outcomes, will be Perkins, Glenville, Shelby, and West Holmes. That would put Shelby on a path to Glenville. Glenville is expected to jump in the seeding mainly due to their "bye" week they incurred by playing IMG, who is not technically a valid opponent in the eyes of the OHSAA.
It seems as though West Holmes can jump Shelby if the Whippets lose to Pleasant this week.
Perkins can't drop below #1.
Glenville, in theory, would drop below #2 if they were to lose to their Senate League opponent. Unlikely.
The seeding gets more muddy once you go past Galion, who seems decently safe as a #5 seed.
It wouldn't be too crazy to suggest Shelby could see a playoff path that looks like Bryan, Van Wert, and Glenville. Maybe swap out Bryan for Cleveland Central Catholic. Maybe swap out Van Wert with Napoleon. Those lower seeds have way slimmer margins to get bumped up or down, so things may very well look different.

Glenville, in theory, would drop below #2 if they were to lose to their Senate League opponent. Unlikely. According to some rumblings in the SBC version of this thread, there's a possibility of Glenvile having some games forfeited due to ineligible players. If, that's a big if at this point, the OHSAA acts on it in time, they could end up in a position where they just barely make the payoffs and face one of the top seeds right out of the gate.

Just an observation, but Napoleon is hot right now. But, them losing to Northview earlier in the year is a severe head scratcher
