Will this be the first meeting between these two members of the former Erie Shore Conference since that league disbanded in the late 1990's?

Glad vermilion seems to be getting better. Although i don’t think Sandusky is anything great this year, i think they still beat the sailors because they haven’t played anyone even close to the athleticism as Sandusky.

Sandusky has found a way to win the past 2 games late. Maybe Coach Lucas has them turning the corner?

Last time the 2 met all-time was in 2004. Streaks won 35-8 in that game. True, the ESC disbanded in 1996-97. In the '04 matchup, Sandusky was in the Greater Buckeye Conference and Vermilion was a freelance school.

Vermilion is committed to the run, so closer than the experts think. Sandusky pulls away a bit, late.

Hopefully you are correct about closer than what people expected.
I am afraid it might not be close at all, because two of their wins came against Willard(who is a d5 school and no size) and South Central (d7 school who only beat sjcc and we all know how bad they are).
The only lost that they have was against Firelands (1-3) 30-0 and they are the same size school and players as Vermilion .

Streaks eventually finished 4-6 while Sailors 2-8, with 1 of those wins not counting for Harbins

Streaks in a close one. Vermillion will be able to run the ball and eat some clock in this one but it won’t be enough.

Measuring stick game for Vermillion. They get to see how far they’ve come and how far they have yet to go.

It will be close, but Vermilion sneaks one out. The Sailors are for real.

Not really sure what to expect in this game, but my gut tells me Sandusky has to win this game. You cant be trying to turn a program around and lose to Vermilion. So for that, Streaks get it done.

Chad Kuhn’s kid Logan Peterson and Cohen Mooney who are the other 2 have also done good, but Kuhns has been putting up some numbers as of late. I think this game is going to be close and I could see this being a 1 score game going either way.

I suspect Sandusky will win this game and probably do so comfortably. It’s going to be a huge jump for Vermillion in terms of athletes and speed. To have a chance they’ll need to posses the ball and hope Sandusky pulls a Sandusky.

I have to agree with you on a huge jump in size in terms of athletes and speed that Vermilion will face this week. Playing the likes of Willard and South Central, sorry to say anyone could have nice numbers against these teams. Sandusky is more like what they faced against Firelands, but with more speed. Hopefully they figured out how to deal with the size and speed quickly because if they don’t it will be a long game.

Sandusky will win, but will still give up 200+ yards on the ground. The second half of the season will be a meat grinder if they don’t shape up on defense quickly.

I haven’t seen a vermilion team that dirty since my days in the Erie Shore Conference. One kid ejected and lots of flags.

Lots of scoring and flags dragged this game to almost a whole 3 hours. And yes, it was raining flags in the 2nd half, especially in the 3rd quarter.

Surprised Vermilion went there with dirty play, Streaks hung 60 on them for their troubles
