do sportswriters really do this with a fine tooth comb?
what would be the reason Africentric isn't #1 in D-3? maxpreps put them 2nd seed in the central which is a joke as well...
after seeing loudonville in person tonight. gibsonburg is better, Vermilya is special but their team only gets to state because their best regional opponents would be new london or danbury...

do sportswriters really do this with a fine tooth comb? what would be the reason Africentric isn't #1 in D-3? maxpreps put them 2nd seed in the central which is a joke as well... after seeing loudonville in person tonight. gibsonburg is better, Vermilya is special but their team only gets to state because their best regional opponents would be new london or danbury... As an AU fan, I have watched Loudonville play a number of games this year - including last night when they beat a team that just played state-ranked Margaretta to a single digit game in Castalia. The Redbirds are very very good - certainly a top 5 D4 team in OH - and you can’t discredit that Vermilya had what seemed like an easy 40 last night. I agree - they did not play their best. The 2 hour drive on a Monday night may have had a little bit to do with that? They did look very balanced/borderline dominant when I saw them blowout very good Colonel Crawford and Clear Fork teams on the road. I think on a neutral court they beat Gibsonburg by 15 points. Warrensville Heights is the top D3 team in NEO and Loudonville went there and played them very well through 3.5 quarters. Respectfully, if you think that New London or Danbury is one of the top teams in Loudonville’s region, I am not sure you are very familiar with the teams in NEO. While one of those two (along with South Central on the right night) are the favorites to win their Willard district, in the Perry regional - Warren JFK, state-ranked Richmond Heights, Cornerstone Christian, Canton Central Catholic and maybe even Southern Local would all be favored over New London and Danbury. With that being said - if you win your district and make it to a regional - you have had an outstanding year and you certainly have a chance!
