A mostly chalk tournament we have left. When was the last time every number 1 seed and every 2 seed made the Sweet 16?

Here’s my brush with the tourney… I work close to Detroit Metro airport. I didn’t pick any brackets this year nor did I really care about the tourney until I’m driving by a back entrance to the airport and for whatever reason, there are two butt-ugly orange charter buses with the Tennessee logo on their side pulling into one of the airlines within the fence. I didn’t even know they were playing in Detroit for the Sweet 16, nor that Tennessee was one of the teams, so I had to look it up. I’ve run into OSU buses in different locales up here over the years, but it was just peculiar to me to see those orange buses.
I was much more focused on wrestling this year and the women’s tourney.

So do you suppose they drive the busses up from Knoxville only to shuttle the players from the hotel to the arena and airport? Seems like just renting a couple charters would be wiser.

I forgot; Michigan in the Frozen Four although not really considered B1G Hockey What do you mean? This year was the 11th season of the Big Ten sponsoring hockey. Once Penn State elevated their hockey program from club to D1 varsity it gave the Big Ten the required minimum of 6 schools to begin conference play. OSU, UM and MSU left the CCHA and UW and Minn left the WCHA, and then a few years later Notre Dame also joined to make it 7 teams, where it stands now.

For some actual "Big Ten but not actually Big Ten in hockey" news, a little over a week ago the Ohio State women's hockey team won their 2nd national championship in 3 years.

Purdue is heading to the final.
The Big Ten was overdue for an appearance....maybe this time the losing streak can be broken? Ever since MSU's win in 2000 there's been a fairly steady pattern of Big Ten teams reaching and losing in the final every few years:
02 Indiana 05 Illinois 07 Ohio State 09 Michigan State 13 Michigan 15 Wisconsin 18 Michigan 24 Purdue?

Purdue has the most B1G Titles, but hasn't fared too well over the years at Tournament. Best of luck to the Boilermakers

UConn has now passed Duke and Indiana on the list of NCAA titles and is tied with UNC for third most. Only UCLA and Kentucky have more.

I feel like what UConn has done these past two years isn't getting talked about enough. They didn't just win back-to-back tournaments they did it in dominate fashion. For the past two tournaments they have won every tournament game by 13+

First Title in 99, and now 6 with 3 different Head Coaches; Calhoun, Ollie, and Hurley.
They're catching up to Geno

UConn doesn’t really get that many great recruits either.

Sorry I missed your post… Could be… branding can be huge and they were nice brand spanking new vehicles… AND Tennessee really isn’t that far in a charter…
