Who do you consider some of the greatest track team/track athletes in the SBC over the past 25 years? I know the Pirates had some great track athletes from about 2000-2005. Names and events?

Cory Lesile, Richardson, others Edison's Bobby Kandell, and new SBC members Shelby's Wechter brothers, Eric Barrison Willard, Davion Fisher Sandtown just to name some...

Recent years - not SBC - but in the area, you'd have to add Chance Ehrnsberger to the list as an all-time great thrower. He's competing this year for OSU.
Edison - great long jumper would be Brady Gelvin - also competed at OSU.
Perkins had some amazing girls' throwers for many years.

For Perkins, I'd add.......Tyson Gentry (hurdles, 4x1, 4x2, 200), Cory Leslie (distance), Chris Skaggs (100,4x1, 4x2, pole vault, 200), Ian Michalek (distance)......Gentry, Skaggs, and Leslie held many, and maybe still own, SBC records. They are all 3 pictured on the Perkins Pirate Wall Of Fame outside the gym.

Perkins had the streak end in 2005 to Huron. Burrows never went off about them winning to the paper, it was the fact that they were on are track celebrating up and down like a bunch of guys who never been there before (winning) thats all, pretty rude to be honest. Any team with class IMO would have waited until they got on the bus to celebrate, added a little insult to injury for us Pirates that day. 113 went away that day. We could have celebrated the following year when we beat the brakes off the tigers at there track but waited to do so once on the bus on the way home. I would be happy to if I broke a schools 113 dual meet record, but to celebrate in that matter was not a class act at all.
To add to the convo, I would say for Perkins the 02,03,04 teams had some of the best and fastest talent you have seen in the last 25 years with guys like Keys (before transferring to Bellevue) Richardson (RIP), Gentry, Skaggs, Conway (200m state champ 02), Antel. They were stacked in the field events as well. Perkins has always put together some very solid track teams and athletes. I will always be a homer for my Alma mater, Perkins.
Other Schools
Huron- 04,05 Edison- 01,02
I am young graduated in 06, so some of the years from before 2000 I am not the best with.

Bellevue nearly had them in 1999 with Perkins edging them by one at BAF in a dual. Perkins had some killer track teams in the 90s starting in the mid 90's with Bryan Gangwisch in the 400, Bryan Garbe, Jeff Jordan in the mid distance, Painter in shot and discuss and some other dude whose first name was Ted, yes it was so long ago. The class of 97 was the best group I had ever seen from a Perkins track team...LaDale Harper jumping 25 feet in the long jump, Dionte Johnson, Chaz Price, Dante Shipp, Jason Ziegler smoking everyone in the sprints and relays. Todd Downing and Lucas Keller giving their all in the weight events. I graduated in 98 and was witness to the Phenomenon that was the Perkins track team, From 1994 to 97, Perkins just obliterated Bellevue in track and field putting up over 100 points I believe it was 1996. Edison had some real good track teams in the mid to late 90s under Tim Campana and there track was in transition from cinders to all weather. I remember Bellevue having a track meet there in 1995 and seeing them tearing down the visiting bleachers and burning them out in the field.

Making it to State in even one event is an amazing accomplishment......in 2004..... Chris Skaggs made it to State in three events (4x1, 4x2, pole vault), and Aaron Richardson made it to State in four events.....Perkins. That's truly amazing.

Piratefan, I am not hard to guess, there was only three of us bird boys to go through Perkins, I was the middle child Brett. I did enjoy long jump, never hit the distances I would have liked but it was still fun competing for the 4 years I participated in track and field. All 4 years running track at Perkins were a memory that I cherish to this day and will continue to long into the future. Like many schools in and around the area when you have a program with such rich history and an expectation to win, I found myself thinking about how "losing" would be letting down so many before me and that made every sprint, jump, relay, that more important and serious.
I had the honor to run with some of these guys listed for Perkins and watching them at times with there craft and there skill was truly a joy, I may be wrong I would have to get out my out track and field program, but Aaron Richardson went and placed at state all 4 years of high school running in events from the open 200m to 4x1, 4x2 and long jump. Skaggs and Gentry were two other extremely gifted runners and field event guys as well. I remember Tyson lost in a 110 hurdle event and him and I were in the triple jump together, he came over said "What do I have to jump for us to win," he got that number and blew it away. Those guys and so many before them were gifted, but the work ethic, and dedication they put into track was 2nd to none, I think at times that it what makes Perkins Track and field so special is every kid knows they have an expectation of excellence but also a attitude of "no one" is going out out works us.

It wasn’t the lap, it was the unecessary cheering and celebrating on the visitors side of the track that imo was in poor taste.
You would have never seen us do.
And to us it was disrespectful
I guess you could ask the same question, why wouldn’t they wait to celebrate on the bus... once back in the locker room.. not on the other teams track....
