Defending National Champions Villanova is currently undefeated, as are Baylor and Gonzaga.
And Duke's Grayson Allen continues to stir up controversy

It seems likely the NCAA will be moving the 3 pt. arc out to 22'..................long overdue. They are supposedly going to make it a 20 second clock after offensive rebounds off the rim. What they really need to do is trash the two halves experiment and go back to four quarter basketball.

I think anything the NCAA can do to invigorate and restore the inside game, would be good for the sport of college basketball.

What they really need to do is trash the two halves experiment and go back to four quarter basketball. I was curious to see when college basketball adopted the 2 halves thing, and it would appear that the timeline goes like this: - two 15 minute halves were established as one of the original 13 rules of basketball by James Naismith himself. - at some point in time it was changed to two 20 minute halves. - the 1951-52 season was the first season in college basketball history that was played with four 10 minute quarters. This rule lasted all of 3 seasons. - the 1954-55 season saw the return of two 20 minute halves, a rule that remains to this day.

Men’s college basketball is the sole remaining level of American basketball that uses the halves system. Men's basketball is the only venue with only two clock wind downs and it sucks. NCAA has been using the NIT as a testing ground, breaking team fouls into 4 ten minute increments. Next year it is believed 4 quarters will be implemented. Expect DI to be 4 ten minute quarters in 2021.....just a matter of time. International basketball rules are 4 ten minute quarters and NBA is 4 twelve minute quarters. NCAA Womens BB moved to 4 ten minute quarters in 2015 and it has become a much better game for all concerned (players, fans and coaches)

Juwan Howard in at Michigan. A very good hire. Given Beilein’s miserable timing he’s the best that could be hoped for imo. Another interesting angle here is that Michigan still hasn’t put the fab fives banner’s back up. They’ve been resistant to doing it and binging Chris Webber back around. They might not have that choice anymore with Juwan back around.

Not my favorite hire. I told my Michigan fan son. John Beilein could really hurt both programs.....and I love the guy. Oh well time will tell.

OSU rolled Tress into the shoe to thunderous applause less than two years later. A few years after that they rolled him in again for another round of applause. 20+ years since the Fab 5 departed and Webber blew up the program. Michigan is just now getting around to dealing with the fab 5. We didn’t roll Steve Fisher in a few years later for a round of back slapping.

It’s definitely a gamble but given our options he’s the best bet of a lackluster group of options. Beilein left Michigan up a creek leaving this late. Had he left at the end of the year we likely would have hired Nate Oats.

The untimely departure makes a search difficult, but Beilein certainly left a legacy that will be hard to equal.

^^^Don't disagree with legendary players often being poor coaches, but I don't consider him to be a great player. He's a Chicago guy, which should help recruit that area. And he did put in time as an asst coach in the NBA. It's just my opinion. I thought the Harbaugh hire was a bad hire, just feel different about this hire.
