Hard to believe anyone would touch this kid with a ten foot pole, but here we are. (he didn't molest or murder anyone yet)
RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) Former Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to play this season for Eastern Kentucky.
EKU athletics spokesman Kevin Britton confirmed Saturday that Mauk will join the FCS program after going 17-5 over three seasons as the Tigers' starter and leading them to back-to-back Southeastern Conference Eastern titles. He will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Colonels.
Mauk was suspended three times in four months during his junior season. New Tigers coach Barry Odom dismissed him in January for another violation of team rules after a video was posted to Twitter that showed a person appearing to snort a white, powder-like substance.

I knew someone would pick him up. He is skilled, and he did win at Missouri.
Now, it's a 'we will see' game....

Is Eastern Kentucky the school that picks up the guys who fail at life for a little bit?
Noah Spence went here after his Big Ten boot, right?

Some coaches will sell their soul to the devil to win.

Is Eastern Kentucky the school that picks up the guys who fail at life for a little bit? Noah Spence went here after his Big Ten boot, right? Noah Spence wasn't a drug addict. Maty Mauk needs to have a mandatory monthly or bi-monthly drug test imposed by the NCAA. (maybe they already have, not sure)

Interesting perspective from someone who has no problem with the Bengals picking up thug after thug. The best part of their issues is when they act like they don't have issues. I wonder if they wonder why they have the longest playoff drought without a win to include the Browns who took 3 years off.

I love the block feature. I never have to read another stupid comment about bandwagon fans or bengals last playoff win. Ahhh to silence the scrub.

Pretty sure Noah Spence was booted for a drug problem. It may not be as severe as Mauk and that wasn't my point.
I simply want to know if Eastern Kentucky is the school who takes in players who have been booted from their previous schools do to off the field issues.

You are correct,Noah tested positive a second time for the PED. 'ecstacy', which ended his Ohio State career. The Big Ten classifies ecstasy as a performance-enhancing drug, even though it is better known as a party drug. The conference policy for performance enhancers upon a second offense is that the player “shall be declared permanently ineligible for all further intercollegiate competition in all sports.” I think Eastern Kentucky is in that category of universities willing to take the risks and give violators a chance at renewing their playing careers. That can be another discussion by itself.

Who knows? Maybe this form of a 'second chance' will do Mauk some good. You never know....
And like I said before, now it's 'wait and see' time.
