I know they were last year but that could have changed this season. Can't find anything for District breakdowns.

They have been good the past couple years, but this year they are playing great. It helps when you have two quality 6 footers as well and some other good players with height in the front row. Many play JO with good programs so they will be a force for the next year or two for sure.

I will second the one sport aspect. Too many kids are trying to "focus" on one sport and football is usually one kids and parents say is the sport they dont want to play because of the risk of injury. Lower enrollement numbers feed into this as well, and if your best athletes are not playing multiple sports then many of the sports programs are going to feel the hurt of less coming out to play.

10 years ago wasn' t Perkins getting a lot of transfers from Sandusky? When Sandusky joined the NOL and now the SBC with smaller schools and enjoyed more successes, has the stream of transfers slowed down? It's balanced out quite a bit, yes. We opened our enrollment in 2009, and were unprepared for the flood. Around 300 and change signed up for the first year, mostly Sandusky. The next few years were no different. We made more room yearly, and there would still be a waiting list to start the school year 50+ deep after we'd taken in all we could take for the year. I wonder how much of what happened in the classrooms in the immediate aftermath of open enrollment can account for what is happening now on the field. What I mean by that is that we were promised the "old Perkins discipline" in the classroom would remain - it was one factor in the school's attractiveness to people outside it. Fast-forward three years down the road, and it was the people making that promise were talking out their arses. Ironically, it's Perkins' inability to maintain that discipline in the face of out-of-control numbers, that have sent many back to their home districts or on to still other ones. There weren't too many complaints about the discipline when the team was going to the playoffs, with a lineup that included key contributors from players that were open enrolled from other districts

Perkins beat Vermilion in 3 sets last night 25-14, 25-21, 25-15. Good first match for the Pirates, Vermilion's top hitter was not herself didn't look 100% because when she's on she is one of the better players in Ohio. It was a good crossover win though she had off season abdominal surgery. no where near 100% yet That makes sense then cause I've seen her play quite a few times in school and JO and she is very talented.

And I believe one of Clyde's best players from the last couple years isn't even playing vball. Seen her name in the tennis scores in the register.

How do they think this is right to only have 3 teams in this, I know it is based off of OHSAA division breakdown but can't they figure something out and group all the district schools together and make 4 equal number "divisions"? The D2 was loaded and you had kids getting HM averaging over 12 pg and you have kids at 5 pg getting 2nd Team in d1.
I know it's not always about individual accolades but it seems an easy fiX to me. Go to the OHSAA site find the enrollment numbers, if there's 40 teams in the district. Then 4 "divisions" of 10 teams...

they have not come out with the exact rules or pitch counts but it will be how many pitches you throw in a game and that number will determine how many days that pitcher will not be able to pitch or has to "rest". Some states have come out with their systems but OHSAA will be coming out soon, it is similar to what the Little League World Series does.

Having watched Sandusky play both Shelby and Bellevue, I believe Bellevue pulls this one out. They will be able to put pressure on Armstong which is key and one of the main things that helped Sandusky beat them. They also had trouble containing Alexander's running vs the Streaks, which could be a similar factor in trying to stop Foos and the Redmen offense.

Streaks should bounce back from the tough loss vs. Lorain and get back into the win column. Staying in that 2 or 3 slot in the region is key for them come playoff time.
