On to Week 5 we go and the 2-2 River Valley Vikings travel to Heise Park to take on the 3-1 Galion Tigers. River Valley lost Friday night 28-13 to Buckeye Valley while Galion lost 45-21 to Pleasant. River Valley has won 2 of the 3 meetings between the schools including a 35-3 win last year. River Valley has defeated Upper Sandusky and Madison in weeks 1 and 2 before losing to Highland and Buckeye Valley. Galion has defeated Bucyrus, Cardington, and Portsmouth before suffering their first loss last week. Thoughts on this one.....

I don't see galion stopping spears and Blevins. I'll take rv 35-21, rv back in the w column.

Wasnt impressed with RV vs BV. Don't know what Galion has but they should make it close, if not they will struggle with rest of league.

River Valley by a 2 TDs but in this one I will say we might be able to keep it close if we have more down-the-field passing plays that are thrown accurately and caught.
I always said that we wouldn't know how good Galion was (or wasn't) until conference play.
Last week showed us a lot in that we are not able to put 4 quarters together against the upper echelon of the MOAC. I see RV and Galion being comparable but RV being a bit farther along than Galion.
I never really did get on here after the last game and give my opinions.
1. It still looks like we have the speed to be able to score against good teams, (just not consistently and multiple times per game) 2. 45-7 starters vs starters. I'll give Eagles Nest a close enough on the score prediction. 3. Pleasant is for real, we are not. They will compete for the conference title with Clear Fork in my opinion. 4. Pleasant is a great place for visiting fans with parking, concessions and modern bathrooms on both sides. 5. As fast as our QB is, I think he gives up on the pass too soon. Could be bad O-line protection or it could be his best JT Barrett impersonation (Running too soon and low passing accuracy)
Thankfully, we are not playing a, "Pleasant", every week.

Galion 14 River Valley 13 after 1. River Valley moving the ball right down the field on Galion. Fortunately Tigers moving the ball as well.

Galion showed a lot of heart tonight playing 4 solid quarters.
RV had some play makers for sure but our defense minimized the damage and came up big winning the 2nd half.
Considering how Galion was rocked last week, they showed toughness.
I'm proud of their performance tonight. Don't know how many we will win this year, but I don't see this being our last. We're not world-beaters, but we may be competitive in many games which is what I had hoped for at the beginning of the season.

0-2 start. Haven't looked very good. Moac has 4 strong defenses I can think of. We will just have to see.

RV has a nice offense. 38 and especially 5 did a nice job moving the ball. Their problems were turnovers, penalties, and inability to stop Galion's running game. The Tigers played with tons of heart and like a team that expected to win. It wasn't pretty but a win in this conference is an accomplishment. And the Tigers have doubled their won total from last year.
