If Scherzer is healthy Washington is going to be a tough out.

This was the 6th year of the wild card round, and was the first time that both home teams won. And with 3 first timers this year, there have now been 19 teams that have played in a wild card game.

The Astros will join the Brewers as the only teams to have played in both the ALCS and NLCS. Though of course, they are also the only two teams to have had the opportunity to do so.

Jason Werthless.
Dodgers have shaken off the post streak soon. Lotta pitching, they will be a tough out.

Tonight the Nationals are trying to get their first postseason series win in Washington, and what would only be the 2nd postseason series win in the franchise's history. They are one of only 2 teams that have never been to the World Series, both of which are located in places names after the first US President.

If you took the 4 largest cities in the US, represented each with its most popular baseball team, assigned them seeds based on city population rank, and paired them up 1v4 and 2v3, you would have this year's LCS matchups.

It's the Cubbies.
That scares me. Cubs know how to win, and although the Dodgers have "home-field" advantage, Cubs fans will pack Chavez Ravine. At any rate....
Let's Go Dodgers!

Dodgers hold serve winning both home games with hometown kid JTurn being the hero of last night's game.
Here's hoping Darvish will pitch a gem tomorrow night's game.

Could an old-school Dodgers-Yankees WS be on the horizon?
Darvish delivered as I hoped, and also had a "comical" bases-loaded BB to get that critical 4th run. Hopefully, this puppy gets closed out tonight.
Let's Go Dodgers!

Nice to see the Astros win this, Houston really needed that.
This is the first time since 2002 that we've had a team win their first ever World Series (though 2010 had a team win one for the first time in their current city), and the list of teams that have not won a WS is down to 7. And on a sidenote, the AL central is the only division in baseball in which all 5 members have won a WS.

The Houston Astros were certainly a worthy champion, so my hat is off to them. It was a fun season for my Dodgers, so perhaps next year is the year?

4 run lead with Kershaw on the mound in a tied series is where this series changed.
I love Kershaw, probably more than any player currently in the MLb(RIP Jose), but your Ace, and the best pitcher on the planet, needs to lock that game down. He gave some solid innings in Game 7, but no one is going to remember that.
Also trading for a SP to ‘get you over the hump’, and watching him lay two eggs, is never good.
Sports talk radio here in LA has been good these last few days.

I was glad that Verlander was a solid contributor to his new team's success. He gave his best in Detroit, and this WS was a nice reward for him.
