4 run lead with Kershaw on the mound in a tied series is where this series changed. I love Kershaw, probably more than any player currently in the MLb(RIP Jose), but your Ace, and the best pitcher on the planet, needs to lock that game down. He gave some solid innings in Game 7, but no one is going to remember that. Also trading for a SP to ‘get you over the hump’, and watching him lay two eggs, is never good. Sports talk radio here in LA has been good these last few days. Not to be too much of a homer but it the difference between Yu & JV was stark considering LA had their choice which guy to go after. In the League Championship Round, yes, I agree, but the Dodgers didn’t need him there. Verlander is 0-4 in 5 World Series appearances with a 5.67 ERA including 5 ER and 2HRs in 12 innings this year. He wasn’t much of a factor in the WS. For the Dodgers, it was more about that they traded for Darvish, than it was about not trading for Verlander.

I don't disagree with any of that, however, I'm going to say the series changed in Game 2 when the Dodger Bullpen, more notably, Jansen, proved to be human. Also, there was no guarantee Verlander would have wanted to go to the Dodgers to those discussing JV and Darvish.
