On to Week 9 we go. The 4-4 Galion Tigers take a trip down 309 to neighboring Ontario to take on the 2-6 Warriors. Galion lost 68-26 at North Union in week 8 while Ontario was defeated 35-0 at Clear Fork. There isn't a whole lot of history between these 2 schools although they were in the infamous Black Division of the NCC in 2011 and 2012. Galion is 3-0-1 all time against Ontario with the wins coming in 1985, 2011, and 2012 and interestingly both the '11 and '12 games were by a touchdown. On the other hand current Ontario and former Galion Head Coach Chris Hawkins is 6-0 lifetime against Galion. So some streak will come to an end here. Thoughts on this one.....

I think Galion has been looking forward to this game all year. We need this win to avoid a losing record.

The question I have is if Galion can make this ugly, will they. I'm sure there are people on the tiger sideline that were there when Hawkins left them.

At this point Galion will just be happy to escape with a victory, any victory.

I think Hawkins will have Galion's number. As much as I hate to say it (or type it), I just don't think it will be in the cards for the Tigers to pull this one out. Ontario by 14.

I'm not sure what to think on this one. If Galion wins, I think it will be close.

For those of you blocking Fillmore- "Ontario has 10 starters out with injuries." My educated guess would be many teams are dealing with injuries at this point. When you can consider special teams, offense and defense all starters and being 33 kids saying 10 are injured is not uncommon. Nor should it be pre-posted for an excuse.

For those of you blocking Fillmore- "Ontario has 10 starters out with injuries." Is that 5 kids out who go both ways or 10 kids?

Your "educated guess"?? That's a joke.
You think Ontario has 33 starters??? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL They don't have 33 healthy players 9th trough 12th.
Excuse? EXCUSE?? E-X-C-U-S-E??? WTF do you know about an "excuse"? I DO know hater insults when I see them.
Nothing more than a statement of FACT, I knew 3 weeks ago that Ontario had no chance to win a game the rest of the season.

I don't know much about Ontario, but the QB was a tremendous athlete. Too bad he broke his leg. Having said that, if there are 9 other starters injured, then I think Galion has a chance to win. Galion just looked beat down last week, and that was 2 minutes into the first quarter. Galion needs a spark. Not that any of you guys care about my opinion. Lol

Well I missed the game, darn. My 0330 start time Saturday morning at the Post Office was too much for me to sacrifice a 40 minute drive to go see it. I'm headed to Columbus though tomorrow night to watch BW play Otterbein, then headed Monday evening to Case Western University to watch BW Junior Varsity play. GO TIGERS..GO Yellow Jackets!!!

Great result for the Tigers. It was nice that things have seemed to break the right way to get us to 5-5. That seemed to me to be best possible outcome for the season.
I would be remiss, however, if I did not give a big shout out and thank you to the misguided Ontario youths who paid us a visit earlier in the week and vandalized our practice field giving our players that little extra motivation to get them over the hump this week.

And I surely would've never guessed Galion would've won 5 games this year. Coach Dick has really done a nice job turning things into the right direction. To me the biggest difference has been the line play. Even more promising is that there is even better talent on the way, hopefully letting Galion be able to compete with the big boys of the conference!

Let me apologize for the stupidity of those immature teenagers. I hope they find out who they are and make them go to Galion after every home basketball game this year and clean up their bleachers.

No need to apologize WF, they should find out who they are and make them apologize to the Ontario football team. Hell, I'll trade some spray paint on the practice field for a victory any day of the week.

It's good to at least not have a, "Losing", record this year.
I don't know if we will be better or not next year since we are losing some talent at the skill positions.
