Now that the holidays are over it’s not too early to look ahead to the football season. The Tigers will be playing for Now 3rd year coach Matt Dick who is 7-13 and came off a rather surprising 5-5 season in 2017. Here is the schedule for 2018:
August 24: H Bucyrus August 31: A Carey September 7: A Upper Sandusky September 14: H Pleasant September 21: A River Valley September 28: H Marion Harding October 5: A Clear Fork October 12: H North Union October 19: H Ontario October 26: A Buckeye Valley
The Tigers lose QB Harrison Ivy as well as the Crisman brothers Takoda and Tanner. The Tigers only are losing 12 seniors to graduation. More thoughts.....

I see it like this:Bucyrus W Carey L Upper W Pleasant L RV W Harding L Clear Fork L North Union W Ontario W BV L…….so 5 and 5 is just about right (I think).

I’m thinking 4-5 wins as well. A pretty good incoming Sophomore class from what I understand so they will be younger this year. Definitely see them beating Bucyrus, Upper, and Ontario. And anyone in the MOAC that is close to them and overlooks them like RV did last year could be susceptible to getting beat by them. Unfortunately the line coach from last year went back to Wynford. Looking forward to football soon!!!

This will be a very interesting season to say the least. Weeks 1 and 3 had better be wins. I believe that the litmus test for this team will be week 2 against Carey. If they can win that one they should at least get to 5 wins. They definitely will be young at several positions and depth will be a concern again if they start sustaining injuries on the o and d lines like they did last season. The good news is that throughout the summer they've had a pretty good turn out for the morning workouts. Hopefully this will keep them a bit healthier. In addition, the kids have all been in the system for 3 years now so the growing pains with the x's and o's should be over.

Halftime in the Jamboree Scrimmage/Game some thoughts. Shelby 35 Galion 21
The good: I am impressed with the offense and their ability to move the ball. The quarterback, number 1 is small and doesn’t show a huge arm but is making the throws. Lots of dinks and dunks but also 1 throw down the field and has hit on almost all of them. Few penalties something that will drive you nuts.
The bad: Shelby is moving the ball and scoring easily. Their offense still looks good and fast but too many wide open receivers. The defense needs a lot of work.
All in all Galion played better than I expected. Looking forward to week 1 next Friday!!!

That was the final. They started the JV scrimmage at that point.
