Ok I will take Lex in a close one 55 - 52 with Stover being the difference maker. Sandusky is playing well right now, but so is Lexington minus the 3rd quarter against Vermilion the other night.

Does Fillmore know that a question can’t be an opinion?
Anyways I like Lex today in a close one.

I witnessed the game and I don't think the game plan Sandusky put together was good at all. They should have showed some type of pressure in the first half when they were struggling offensively. They had some success with it in the second half but they had already dug a whole. Also, I don't know what planet the coaching staff was on not double teaming Stover. Whenever he touched the ball, he should have been double teamed. Lexington was the better team overall, they play solid defense and actually run plays in half court sets. I don't think they beat Wauseon.

Wouldn't' change anything IMO... 3 of the 4 teams in this district were dealing with injuries. Did portwalk predict those? JMHO

I thought Lex would be District Champs after their 2nd game with Mt. Vernon, what did you think? JMHO THUS....There is more than one opinion there, even though only the last 4 words formed a question. I just sign off a post with..... JMHO Whiner, hater, chicken shat..JMHO

I have wondered for the past 3 years why he didn't press more, as he did in his first couple of years. The ONLY explanation would be a belief that he doesn't have the quality bench needed and a fear of foul trouble. I would think an under control up and down game would favore Sandusky, against most opponents. JMHO

I think the team that beat Sandusky was Sandusky. It's being televised right now on the Mansfield station (which is great) but I turned the channel. Maybe in the off-season Sandusky players could put the basket back up to 10 feet and practice shooting instead of dunking. How do you miss all of the wide open shots!? Commentators were stating how good the Lex defense is. Are they watching the same game? Sandusky can't hit an open shot. ...and Stover can do it all..he's the biggest guy on the court! I wouldn't expect anything less. Call it for what it is. He's only got 20 blocks on the year. He's 6'5" - that's pathetic! Right team moving on. At least Lex can shoot. ...and they won't have the biggest guy on the court in the next game.

Think Lex can hang with Wauseon? With a player like Stover, I think they have an outside shot but know the Indians haven't been tested.

Isn’t Waseon they #1 team in the state? Lexington has not been ranked or even mentioned in the rankings all season. Beechcroft looks pretty good in this region also.

Lex is definitely an underdog in the next game and this regional, but I'm not conceding anything. As we have seen they play a pretty good brand of basketball in this area and the OCC. Also that the Minutemen aren't just happy being there, they are there to compete.

I would have to agree with bsports, Sandusky played terrible, about anyone of 10 teams could have won that district, Lex did, so they are moving on!! Good luck Lex, but I think the ride will stop Thursday!!!

Everyone was saying this district was a battle zone before it began and a number of teams could win it. I don't think it was quite 10 but the odds were good for some upsets.

Everyone was saying that there would be upsets. And there were maybe a couple of minor ones. Sandusky over Mansfield or Lexington over Vermilion. But those were not really upsets, but just evenly matched teams. I held the opinion that Lex was the best team in the district this year if they came to play, which they did and it held up. Now hopefully they can compete and maybe shock the northwest Ohio basketball world and knock off Wauseon.

Congratulations to Lexington on another big win. Bay is up next, but you guys should match up well. Vermilion beat them 62-46 in February. Sailors played and shot well against Bay and I don't think they got Bay's best punch that evening, although Vermilion's pressure had a lot to do with that.

Congratulations yet again to Lexington on another big win.
For Vermilion, it puts a spotlight on an excellent season that was thiiiiiiss close to being one for the ages:
20 - 5 overall record 11 - 1 in the Bay division for a second straight title 4 - 0 vs. the Lake division (Perkins, Sandusky, Bellevue and Shelby) 3 point loss (down two starters due to injury) to Division 2 Final Four team (Lexington) 1 point loss to Divison 1 Final Four team (Lorain)
With 4 junior starters returning next year, there's hope for another big season in '18 - '19.
