Yeah scratching my head on this one... a first round pick all-star to the first place team for for Gleyber Torres i think it's a good value trade, Scherzer ain't a kid anymore, i just want to veto it to keep Lastros from getting better than he already is woot |

Well it's no different than when mlb teams trade their future to win now right? Scherzer is 34 years old so who knows how much more he has left in the tank long term to be ace quality( 1-2 years max?). Torres is already lighting it up in the bigs and will be a top shortstop for years to come in that explosive lineup. Just take a look at some dynasty rankings and he will be up there in the top 50 for sure. I hate to part with him but I have quite a few shortstop prospects already. Dahl is also a good talent especially in coors field, just needs to stay healthy and find playing time. Stroman has been up and down but is still a decent sp to hold on to. There is still a lot of baseball left to play!

A la TIG to CEO the previous year. But whatever, I'm just bitter that I didn't make an offer for Scherzer first. |

Well the Orioles are about to give a huge piece to the Dodgers. It is all the same for both leagues. Still no guarantees for lastros, ur players still have to have a good month in the playoffs to win. Only takes one bad start, and Scherzer has had bad starts, just like Sale or Kershaw.
I love that lastros is going for it. That is a big part of what makes this league great. Shoving your chips to the center of the table and making the call.

Thought it was a decent trade I suppose.
Hard to say what happens in the future, but we do know Scherzer is getting older. We all probably value him differently. Honestly, I would’ve been willing to give up even less than what was traded for.

i was trying to get an ace from teslas for Miguel Andujar, so imho Torres is good value for brownies who is going thru a rebuild and STILL right there for a playoff spot

We are essentially moving the 2019 Minors Draft from March of 2019 to Summer of 2018(3 days after MLB 1st Year Player Draft is completed). Instead of having 15 Minors and cutting to 13 at the beginning of the season, we will expand to 17(after Summer Minors Draft), and you must cut to 15 at the beginning of each year.
PROGRESSION THIS YEAR: Cut to 13(now), 2 Round Minors Draft(Players drafted in 2017 1st year player draft) expands to 15. 2 Round Minors draft in August(Players drafted in 2018 1st year player draft) expands to 17. Cut to 15 at the beginning of next year. There will be no Minors Draft at the beginning of the 2019 Season. There will be a 2019 Minors Draft in August of 2019
VII. Trade Deadline
(i). Trade Deadline: Saturday August 4th 12pmET
(ii.) All Trades must be submitted for approval by 24 hours after the last selection in the Minors
draft is made. We will use the timestamp of the last selection.
The Trade Deadline is August 4th at 12pmET
Our Minors Draft will be August 5th. TL23 can start at any time on August 5th. You have 24 hours to pick. Post your pick on the ESPN site. 2018 MLB 1st year Draft players are eligible for this draft.
MINORS ROSTER EXPANSION
Rosters expand to 17 with, and only with, the Minors Draft. Expansion slots #16 and #17 on your Minors Roster can only be utilized through a Minors Pick. Another way of saying that is, the extra roster slots on the Minors Roster are tied to the draft pick until the end of the year.
An Example
TL23 trades:
#1 Minors pick
SITH Trades:
Some Active Player
TL23 would then only be able to expand to 16(his 2nd round pick). SITH would be able to expand his minors to 18. Both would still need to cut to 15 on their Minors at the beginning of next year.
Proposed League Vote
In the Past, our Trade Deadline meant the end of all trades, Active and Minor.
I propose that we rename it to the ACTIVE Trade Deadline and we allow Minors/Future Picks for Minors/Future Picks trades through the end of the Regular Season. Active players would be prohibited from being traded after the normal Trade Deadline. Expandable Minors Picks(2018 Minors Draft) would still adhere to the "extra roster slots on the Minors Roster are tied to the draft pick until the end of the year." i.e.if you trade an Expandable Minors Pick, the extra Minors slot goes with him.
Think about that one for a little bit, and we may vote on it shortly.

My offer to Pronk was so overwhelmingly generous he got that purple cloud burst out his temple and forgot to reply.
I assume all liability for poor Pronk's sensory overload. You vultures have jaded the poor kid and he has daughters. It is tough enough raising them with one good leg and the other a lifeless peg.
