Norwalk has started conditioning this week at Whitney. The season officially starts with practices next week.
Our throwers have been working in the off-season (lifting and footwork drills). They are excited and ready to hit the outdoor rings to see what that indoor work will result in.
Norwalk's first meet will be a home meet vs. Tiffin at the end of March; then that Saturday - the Perkins Invite.
Tiffin has some great throwers, so it will be a good first match to see how much we've improved. The Perkins Invite will be an interesting look at what the season will bring as many of the SBC teams usually attend. We'll just pray for decent weather.

Buckeye - your video clip cracks me up! The shorts, the socks, the glide! Just like I remember. It's funny, because my daughters have no clue about the glide, they've only done the spin. My last years throwing in college, the spin for shot was just starting to get popular. You'd see one or two people use it at big meets, but mostly everyone did the glide. One of my daughters did John Powell's throwing camp this past summer and it was interesting to hear him discuss the changes he's seen over the years. He had them hurling tires, so of course, my daughter came home and talked her dad into bringing old tires home from work so she could continue those same drills. We'll see how it pays off. Just a few weeks away!

I was thinking the shorts were kind of sweet. That was the style when I was a kid and when I saw the Upper colors, I had to add it. I swear I had the same pair of shorts somewhere along the way.... LOL!!!

LOL!!! 2B, That is one thing you would never catch me in, Unless I was swimming in public. Being raised on a farm we always wore jeans and now you will never catch me in shorts because all the surgeries on them my legs are so scared up it looks like a highway map.

The girls' district meet is shaping up to be very competitive! The girls are peaking at just the right time.
In the Lake division of the girls' discus, it is very feasible that you could have a girl hitting 100' and NOT make it to finals. The Bay division will be very tough as well.
Will they place 6 or 8 in each division? Will they do prelims on Tues and finals on Friday? Or discus one night and shot the other?

Picabo, How is your daughters doing in the conference. They've both broken 100 this season. They're pretty excited about that. The "older" one several times; but the frustrating thing is she thinks too much at meets - "a fear" of the tape measure??? She can hit close to 115 - 120 in practice. The "younger" one just hit 100 in our last meet. She did not throw discus last year, and as a freshman had only hit 59 feet. She and her sister worked hard in the off season, and their coach is a good guy. . . deals well with them. We have an invite this weekend, and then SBC's start Tuesday. It should be an exciting week. Just pray for nice weather.

I just started back to work at Fisher-Titus as a volunteer about a week or two ago and we got graduations to attend and I have to be at Blissfield, Michigan next Saturday for a meeting. At least up there I'm in friendly group of people since I am a Wolverine fan and I'll be traveling with a bunch of worthless nuts. But I'll try to come to the meet. I will send you a message to tell your oldest on what to do about throwing. Later and GO BLUE!!!!
