The Cardington coaching interviews start Sunday 4/8. I was told by a Cardington teacher that 6-7 out of the 12 will get interviews. Good luck to those Coaches. Whomever gets it will have some catching up to do. They have talent and parents that support the program so the new coach will have something to work with. Just always wonder why or how a coach gets cut in March.

You're right that there is talent. It's very unfortunate though that this happened how it did and when it did. Ball was really dropped. Three head coaches in three years isn't ideal. Nor is likely installing a new offense this late. The youth and junior high levels have some solid talent on the way....IF they stick with the sport. Sadly that always seems to be an issue. They've all been running the pistol spread their whole time playing the game. I am curious as to how much a potential change in offensive philosophy could take to learn efficiently. I truly believe that in two years this team was poised to have the talent to compete for the KMAC and possible playoff berth. I wonder if there is drastic changes to philosophy how long that might take to recover from. Change in scheme seemed to develop results very quickly during the last major change so I suppose we could be optimistic that it isn't impossible.

Interviews for the open position taking place now. They hope to have a candidate announced before the next board meeting on May 7th.

That's too long. This is ridiculous. Kids can't even lift right now. BOE better hit a home run with this hire.

Coach Sumner (wrestling) is a good dude. Glad he's helping with the weight room situation.

Tim Plumley has been offered the Cardington job. Don't know anything about him. I haven't heard much either, heard he is a great guy, was the strength and conditioning coordinator at Bucyrus. He is not teacher but is a physical therapist who owns Mohican Sports Medicine. I could not find any real football coaching experience besides being on the Bucyrus Staff. I was mistaken, Bucyrus won 2 games last year scoring 14pts per game and giving up 40 per game. He inherits a good group of kids with tons of talent. Hopefully the administration made the right decision. I heard he was #3 on the hiring committee list but apparently #1 on the Admin list. Which could make for more drama if this guy doesn’t win this year.

This has been a disaster from the start. Board really whiffed on this process. Don’t know the new guy but have heard he is a good dude.I can’t believe this was option 1,2 or 3. I heard the old Big Walnut Coach was the favorite but he took Hayes job. Brady from Harding and Hawkins from Ontario were also candidates. I’m sure they ran once they heard how the board acted. As far as talent goes, this team will live or die with Goers. He is a huge talent but he has to stay on the field. He missed the tough games year. They have most of line back but they are same ones returning last year that struggled. We will see. Hope the kids will be allowed to get out of the way of the idiots (adults)who have gotten in the way. Go Pirates.

By the way, if Wolford was such a bad Coach, how did he get hired at Fredericktown? A good guy, who was a family man the kids and community respected. He was also in the school. I heard two key kids might be ineligible too.

At this point all we can do is try to move forward and help out coach Plumley as best as possible. He seems to be a really good dude. The worst part about this fiasco taking so long is just being behind now as far as learning new schemes and stuff. Unfortunate. Hope for the best for Coach Plumley and Coach Wolford at Fredericktown as well.
