lexington must really have no body besides stover Cade Stover was a non factor. Played full back and was being taken down by guys half his weight. Made some plays on defense but didn't look like a div 1 recruit. Lexington's qb is innaccurate and the playcalling was unimaginative. Lexington probably goes 0-10 this year or 1-9. Ontario played well for being undersized. Can't really say much about the team until they play more opponents considering Lexington had basically 8 in the box all game and still were getting run on. By the 4th quarter, Ontario had figured them out and tore them apart with some plays they were saving for the end. I am kinda worried for their qb though in the future. Was returning kick returns and running the ball way too often, which is going to put him at risk down the line. He got hit hard mutiple times, and Lexington is far from the toughest opponent they face this year. Defence is very small (like 135 lbs small) in the back and Lexington was getting space frequently. A good team with a decent qb is going to have its way with them.

Non factor on offense I can agree with. On defense stover is definitely a factor. He was probably in on 20+ tackles. Ontario appears stout up front and showed some unexpected receiver skill late. I agree, though. Lexington might only win a game or two all season.

Stover does not play fullback. He played halfback/tailback/slot back.
He's a great defensive player. I'm going to guess he had 25 tackles. Over half were at the line of scrimmage when the Ontario line had opened a nice hole and there was Stover from Free Saftey BOOM! On offense it was another story. He dropped 2 passes, fumbled once and had around 15 yards rushing. Maybe 20 receiving yards until the final 45 seconds of the game, when he got another 60 against Ontario's 7 tiny 5-7 135-145 guys playing 30 yards off the line of scrimmage.
Lex had an 80 yard TD pass early in the first quarter. Then 60 yards passing in the last 45 seconds against a prevent defense. Other than that they only had around 50 yards of offense in the game. Ontario's little guys sacked the Lex QB 4-5 times.
Ontario could have had a couple more scores. Less than stellar clock management caused time to expire at halftime when Ontario had the ball 3rd and goal on the 2 yard line. Another time early in the 4th they had the ball around the 20 yard line and on 3rd and 1, got the first down, but their 235 fullback fumbled.
Ontario's little guys were in better shape than Lexington's much bigger guys. After trying to be cute in the 1st quarter Ontario's coach just pounded and pounded the ball then punted, over and over again. Counting on his defense. Waiting for Lex to make a mistake or get tired, both happened in the 4th quarter.
Size and the better athletes doesn't always win football games, sometimes the team with the biggest heart wins.
Ontario might not win a game the rest of the year, but they won the biggest game on their schedule
I got their 45 minutes before the game started and they were out of programs! Their rookie AD is going to have to learn that when Lex and Ontario play the first game of the year most of the 3000+ fans are going to want a program.

Considering the lack of talent from most of Lexington's defense, it wasn't surprising that he was racking up tackles. We were running the ball in his area very frequently. Once we got to the 4th quarter, we beat their dbs in one on one matchups and mitigated him. I just think, considering the athlete that he is supposed to be (4 star recruit OSU commit) he at least flash on offence a little. Madison or West Holmes are probably going to be the only defenses that Lexington can score points against if they can't utilize him.
Ontario outcoached and out gameplanned Lexington, which awarded them the win this time. Just concerned for the future when offences start exploiting one on one matchups and start beating the pulp out of our corners.

By the end of the season last year Stover had learned how to play QB and could do more things for the team on offense at that position than the QB they have this year. Maybe their coach is looking to the future, if he's an underclass man. I have no idea, since Ontario ran out of programs 45 minutes before the start of the game.
West Holmes 48, Triway 14,

Stover was a better QB last year than the one they have this year. West Holmes 48, Triway 14 Agreed, and I might have wrongly insulted West Holmes by considering them vulnerable to Lexington's offense haha.

Lexington is bad. Agree that Ontario may not win another game all year but 1-9, beating Lex, is worth it to the Warriors.
