His epic rise to the occasion is one of the great stories in college football, one that will endure the test of time. However, it does not give credence to those who wish to use it as a method to bash J.T.

It is not a bash on JT when someone else does well. What hurts JT is the fact that someone took the same team with the same offense and defense and exploded in Big Ten champ and playoff for a national title. I support JT but his numbers are not have not been impressive the more he plays.

I support JT but his numbers are not have not been impressive the more he plays. It is indeed a bash, when they refuse to give credit, where credit is due. Some totally refuse to acknowledge the Buckeyes were where they were at the end of the season and poised for a Big Ten Championship and a shot at a coveted spot in the final four, because of J.T. Barrett. We all know how the season started a little shaky, with our defense finally figuring out Navy's triple option and then the debacle in VT where there was enough blame to go around most elements of the team. The Bucks regrouped and were the hottest offense in football, ripping off 66,50,52,56,31,55 points in consecutive games. The Illinois game J.T. took the bench and became a spectator the entire 2nd half, having put up 31 points in two quarters. This game was probably an integral key to the post season success, because Cardale was able to run the offense the entire second half, getting opportunity to work on timing, tempo, technique and familiarize himself with the players around him. This would prove invaluable down the road. The following week, J.T.'s offense demoralized Michigan State, putting a big 49 on the board. J.T. was named Big Ten 'Player of the Week.' As quite often following a big game, the Buckeyes were flat vs. Minnesota and key fumbles and Int's kept the game much closer than it should have been (31-24). The Buckeyes snapped out of it the following week against Indiana and perhaps the best RB in conference (at least that's what they were saying at the time, but we had a RB that had something to say about that). The Buckeyes concluded an undefeated conference slate, putting up 42 on Michigan, but a very costly one at that, as J.T. went down early 4th quarter, Cardale responded to the call and finished out the route of the Wolverines. J.T. was named Big Ten 'Freshman of the Week' for his ill-fated efforts. Of course, we all know what transpired from there on.

I was speaking about the 3 games CJ played after the injury. I never speak of giving CJ credit for the SEASON. But I also never put much value in the 66 points against 2-9 Kent St. So we may look at this differently.

Kent State lost 3 games by a TD & FG, lost 2 games by a FG and lost one game by a TD. They concluded their season on a high note with a hard fought win at Akron, who had beaten Pitt, Eastern Mich., Miami and UMass. I guess I get a bit weary of those that want to make J.T. the whipping boy and ignore all that he has done for the program. I was/am a big fan of Braxton, Cardale and J.T., all have contributed greatly.

After playing very well in 3 games, CJ then messed up and returned for his Senior season and cost himself Millions. CJ then played so bad the following season that a "noodle arm ball hog" beat him out. CJ is soon to be failure in the NFL.

I think it's much too soon to assess what Cardale's NFL future might be. I think he is still evolving as a player and there is still a wealth of potential that needs to be developed.

A loss is a loss and they were 2-9 with their schedule. Teams can always over achieve and under achieve for 1 game, so I try to not value a single performance as much as a season or career. JT has been good for the Buckeyes. If we had someone better he would be playing. But I think what CJ did in games was incredible and did not see any indication that JT would or could have done the same. That's not a bash, it's only giving credit to CJ. IF I was going to make a "whipping boy" of anyone it would be the coaching staff for the play calling at times.

The kid signed for 2.7 million with a $380,000 signing bonus. Even if a career back-up, he could be set if he manages it well.

love how Fillmore bashes a kid who won Urban a National Title, didn't get suspended for being a moron and hanging out with drunk bums, and was undefeated as a starting QB in the Big-10...all because he doesn't fit the narrative Fillmore is trying to invent

OSU Football 225 lb. Reps.
Billy Price 36 Dylan Thompson 32 Tracy Sprinkle 31 Robert Landers 31 Nick Bosa 28 Davon Hamilton 28 Zach Turnure 26 Jonathan Cooper 25 Mike Weber 25 Tyquan Lewis 25
Anyone a little surprised to see Mike Weber on the list?
Anyone know who Zach Turnure is?......didn't think so. Unless you have been following the good fortunes of Ohio State Lacrosse, you probably wouldn't recognize the name. Zach is a product of Christian Brothers High School in St. Louis, Mo. became a lacrosse All-American for the Buckeyes and came to Ohio State to participate in both sports, after finishing his stellar career with the lacrosse team, Zach is finishing his senior year for Urban Meyer at linebacker.

News out of Buffalo is that CJ will be cut. After being their 4th round draft choice a year ago. I'm thinking Charlie Frey will end up having a much more illustrious career. CJ will have to turn to his 2nd choice of a career. A financial adviser on Wall Street.

Says the king of all bashers. As President Adams once said, "Facts are stubborn things". The other FACTS concerning his career at Ohio State are just as relevant as the FACT of him being the starting QB in the 3 big wins at the end of the 2014 season. CJ "won Urban a National Title"? The defense had nothing to do with it?? The O-line had nothing to do with it??? Devin Smith had nothing to do with it? You've never heard of Zeke? ? More stubborn little things. I didn't even mention his "moronic" tweet of "we ain't come to play SCHOOL". Nor having to go to a Junior college to qualify for a scholarship to Ohio State. NOR his poor work ethic in his first 3 years at Ohio State. Then there was the conversation between, Ted Ginn Sr., Urban and CJ, threatening to pull his scholarship unless he got serious about football. Ye seek MORE "stubborn things" and ye shall receive.

Better to have been drafted at QB and made millions than not get drafted at the qb position at all, which is exactly what will happen to noddle arm JT.
JT is a subpar qb who cannot win the big games. He is good at beating up on the Kent St's of college fb.

Cardale was right, they don't come here to play school. You're such a moron. If he did come here to play school then he would have met with the Dean of Admissions and his Guidance Counselor and a Professor and they would have told to get more serious about class. I don't know if I should bash you for making such a stupid implication that 12 Gauge was some sort of traditional student or if I should commend you for immediately contradicting and distancing yourself from that statement in your very next sentence. They threatened to pull Kenny Guiton's scholarship too. And Malik Hooker was going to tranfer. Who cares. Jones was better than Urban's golden boy and remains better to this day. He didn't get suspended for being a moron, like the golden boy did. He won. EVERYTIME>>>>>>> Remember to post that when you bash 12 Gauge. Like the Buffalo freaking Bills have a clue anyway.

The fact is, Cardale returned to finish and receive his degree, which speaks for itself. Meanwhile, J.T. owns 21 different school records and counting.

DrTorch, are you actually arguing with someone out there that really believes these kids are coming to OSU for the academics. CJ did what he needed to do and is now being paid for all the work he put in. Sad how some people will bash a kid for the work they did to get into OSU and become the stating QB which has resulted in them winning a Big Ten Title, National Championship and a QB position in the NFL.

OK, I see. He is actually tied for a number of those and that is were I was off. I had heard he holds a dozen or records but I see now he is also tied with other past Qbs for a handful more. I had not heard that high of a number for his totals and that's what surprised me.

CJ wins OSU's biggest games and was a huge factor in that, all of a sudden its a TEAM thing, according to Noodle arm lover Willy.
JT, hasn't won a big game yet that actually means anything, holds some records, and is OSU's saving grace and the best QB to ever come out of OSU.
Lol, you are the biggest internet doof.

he owns most of them because he isn't good enough to turn pro his highlight win is what? @ MIN? good lord He is arguably, the most experienced QB in college football this year, this coming from 247, ESPN, Sports Illustrated and many others. I am truly excited to see our offense under Kevin Wilson and the bevy of talented, albeit inexperienced receivers in action. J.T. is great decision maker, an outstanding team leader and possesses a great knowledge of the game. Everything you would want from a QB. The offensive unit worked long and hard this spring and summer, on improving the deep ball portion of the passing game. I expect to see a vast improvement in that area, which will open up other things that can be exploited. The offense in 2016 was quite often very predictable and far too methodic, for which I blame the offensive coaches. That is all about to change. Back off the harsh criticism for a while and try and enjoy what promises to be an exciting year of Buckeye football.
