I am really surprised Dodgers swept the Giants to have a chance for Game 163. I have seen this script too many times before, and it didn't bode well for Dodger Blue

The Brew Crew take the NL central title and #1 playoff seed with a 3-1 win in Chicago. That completes quite a September comeback that included winning their 8 final regular season games.

Milwaukee vs. winner of Colorado @ Chicago Los Angeles vs. Atlanta
I was hoping Colorado would pull it off today and win their first NL West crown, but they remain on the short list of 2 teams that have never won a division title. This is Colorado's 5th wild card berth, and that other team on the list only has 2 wild card berths.....that were both turned into World Series titles.

a few random notes...
This is only the 7th time that 3 teams have finished with 100 or more wins (and 2nd straight year), though it is the first time that all 3 have been in the same league.
The road team has now won 5 of the 7 NL Wild Card games. In the AL the home team has won 4 of 7. The Yankees and Pirates are now tied for the most appearances in the WCG, with NYY being 2-1 and PIT 1-2. Both were the home team in all 3 appearances.
19 MLB teams have played in a WCG so far. Of the 11 that haven't, 6 have won division titles in the WCG era (BOS, DET, LAA, LAD, MIL, WAS), and 5 have not been in the playoffs at all (CHW, MIA, PHI, SD, SEA)
This year's ALDS and NDLS matchups just happen to pair up the teams with the most similar number of previous LDS appearances, and includes 6 of the 7 MLB teams with the most LDS appearances (STL's 13 is the one missing):
NYY 19* vs. BOS 12 - first ALDS matchup and 4th total postseason matchup ATL 13 vs. LAD 12* - third NLDS matchup (ATL won 1996, LAD won 2013) HOU 9* vs. CLE 9 - first postseason matchup MIL 3* vs. COL 3 - both are making their 5th total postseason appearance, and are 1-2 in the previous LDS appearances * includes the 1981 strike induced LDS

The series doesn't really start until a home team loses a game. Once Atlanta loses a game at home then you declare it over. I'd love to see either Mil or Col in the WS.

galion,i thought they had played 2 games.but the dodgers have the better pitching staff.i thought the way the indians did against verlander in the past they would win but after 4innings down 4-0 and 0 hits it doesnt look good no hitting and kluber has been hittable this everyone has been hittable except for bauer who i think gives the tribe the best chace to win and cleavinger with his era over 4 has been hittable i still think asros win in 4.

As for the Dodgers, this will be their 13th NLCS appearance.

Dodgers- Brewers will be a dogfight. Milwaukee scares me more than last year's Cubs.

It would have been interesting WS if it was Cleveland-Milwaukee. Uecker calling the game for Brew Crew, and Harry Doyle for the Erie Warriors

I felt if the Dodgers was going to win this Series after the split in Milwaukee, they would have to win at least 2 of 3 in LA. Sadly last night, LA got the one home loss out-of-the-way to the point winning the next 2 games is a MUST.
