Division 2 will be challenging. Perkins i like the fact has an opening bye but first game likely ontario will be a tough match then possibly Bellevue an even tougher match. meanwhile can Oak Harbor have an easier path to regionals? my guess is they will be matched up with sbc foe Tiffin for a shot at the regionals. Parma Holy Name likely top in the Region.
Division 4 New Riegel a 4 seed Old Fort a 3 and Calvert a 1 Mohawk a 2. I like Calvert to win this. but Mohawk is good defensively.
Division 3 was very very impressed with Huron's showing yesterday against a strong Bishop Hartley team. to go 5 games with that beast just wow. It is Huron's entire division to lose.

Thanks for the support. I was only happy we went 5 with Hartley because we forced ourselves to have to do that . if the entire division is ours, then we need to close sets. Love this team, just need to finish a set. which is the toughest thing to do...

How does Norwalk and Willard stack up Sportsvideo? hopefully better than ohio state and purdue stacked up... if Willard can get in system and stay there, they roll, if they don't its going to be an uphill battle... the last thing you want is this to be a free ball exchange with this team.. pass the ball get Lydia 40-50 swings..

I would agree, the more she's set, the greater our chances.

Flashes grind out out a win over Norwalk in 4. This was an especially big win as Norwalk has pretty much owned us over the years. Total team effort. Looking forward to playing Perkins.

Looking forward to playing Perkins. perkins is very gritty.. when you look at their physical size, you don't think much...then when you see the little one jump out of the gym on her spikes,, its like wow! I like their team.. they play hard...

Flashes jumped on Perkins early and took command to win their first ever District Title in 4 games. Lydia Wiers had 29 kills and a number of blocks and digs. I hope the coaches and sports writers do her justice this year when the All State selections come out. A D1 commit, she's just a real all around force during the match. We play Wauseon next Thursday in Lexington. I don't know too much about them, as we had no common opponents.
Did a little research on Wauseon. They have a girl Lexi Sauber who is going to BG on a volleyball Scholarship. Should be a good matchup between her and Lydia Wiers. Saw where they won their first league title in 25 years,,so obviously not a Volleyball factory like Huron or Norwalk.

the score on their schedule that stands out to me is rossford... if they went 5 with rossford..i scratch my head on that one... i had video on hudl of them... if you want my prediction...willard sweeps them... Sauber is 6'0 shes good.. not much to go with her..

Well that's encouraging to read. I trust your opinion on volleyball teams an awful lot. I hope we can go over there and play with the same confidence that we did vs Perkins. With a healthy Lydia Wiers and Cassie Crawford,,all the pistons are firing and we are playing about as well as we possibly can right now.

I was asked before the game if Lady Flashes had ever been to the Regionals... I didn't know and some other faithful Flashes followers couldn't remember if they had. Then after the game talking to Tina Adams she told me this is the 1st time since she was a freshmen Willard Volleyball made it to Regionals! Her daughter is on the current team Jena, thus Mother (1986) and daughter both made the Regionals!

Willard will face Holy Name, who topped Oak Harbor in three games in the nightcap. Just like all hs sports, if you play far enough to get to regionals / state and run into a team w holy st cardinal Archibald or any mascot with Irish in the name you’ve had a good year.

I watched some highlights on the Max Preps site,,,the Holy Name Setter and Libero seem really good. As a team they aren't overly tall but they are the best we've played this year I'm sure. Played two common opponents in Tiffin Calvert and Oak Harbor. Calvert was able to win a set off them so that gives me some hope we can play with them. They beat Oak Harbor in 3 ,,but easier than we did a few weeks ago. What concerns me is adjusting to these guys skill level compared to Wauseon.
I hope we serve as well as we did against Wauseon. Also limit the free ball oportunities or we won't stay in the match. I think it's in us to have a chance if we limit our mistakes and stay aggressive. We'll need big games from everyone to pull this off.

Flashes played really well,,,lost in 3 games,, 20-21-23. Holy Name is just a really strong well coached team with a little more firepower than we did. About like I figured, their Libero was very strong and dug out spike after spike. Their setter got called for a number of lifts,,,but her sets were true the entire match and their hitters never got cheated with how hard they hit the volleyball. Great season as I think Coach Ashley Bond got every ounce possible out of her team.

One SBC team is in the Finals as Calvert beat Portsmouth Clay in 3 games that were not close. Monroeville won the first 2 and lost the next three to defending State Champ New Bremen. So it will be Calvert vs NB for the DIV Title. I looked at the NB roster and I saw who their coach was,,,same gal who won a Title a few years back at St Henry. She must be a pretty good coach. Incidently,,,if people want to watch these games live on streaming network,,,OHSAA.org has an option to watch live for 9.99,,,I watched the Monroeville team on it yesterday. Looked like they kinda ran out of gas after the two tough first games. NB got the momentum and never gave it back.

They had one of the states premier players a year ago in Paige Jones who unfortunately plays at UofM now. (another from the great state of ohio that got away!) Their program wasn't left dry as they still brought back alot of fire power.. FYI i watched the match for free, on delay WOSN at 9pm last night...

I seen The girl at UofM play plenty of times during JO tournaments and you could tell at young age she was going to be a great player.
