Glad that people of Shelby have something to celebrate, for fall sports.

it was good for these young men to come together and win over an undefeated Ontario team that hadn't lost a game in 2 years

After reading that article I'm almost at a loss for words. Wow! Prepared for life? My goodness gracious.

this will be a big game in the years to come as long as the Miller kid from Ontario doesnt transfer, he is probably the fastest 6th grader in the area....reminds me of Ted Ginn jr...lol

it's 6th grade don't get too excited, plenty of time for Shelby coaching staff to turn them into 2-8 their senior year. Seen it before out of that town.

Congrats to those who cared enough to spend a few moments trashing 6th graders, an article about 6th graders, or the premise of a thread about 6th graders. Well done.

Didn't this years junior class at Ontario win a big football tournament when they were in 5th or 6th grade. I seem to remember something about that. They even interviewed one of the coaches-dads in the newspaper write up. I think they called it the 6th grade state tournament.

No bad towards Shelby, but this should not be in this league's form any longer, they left SBC and this should leave as well. Why would the SBC care about Shelby 6 graders because we will not see them play in middle school or high school. Place this in the new league form for Shelby please.....

One thing I've noticed is that people can't wait to take glee when a program has a couple successful seasons and then experience a down year. It always happens when Bellevue or Clyde has a down year. Saw it happen when Breck Turner graduated at Norwalk and now I see it with Shelby after they graduated their best class in school history. Everybody hates a winner.

It was a Willard 6th grade team that was talked about on here.

this will be a big game in the years to come as long as the Miller kid from Ontario doesnt transfer, he is probably the fastest 6th grader in the area....reminds me of Ted Ginn jr...lol QB Bodpegn Miller was adopted from Ethiopia, he has a sister also adopted from Ethiopia. His adoptive parents are trying to raise $250,000 to build a school in the African country. When Bodpegn was in the 3rd grade he ran a 65.5 400 meters at the AAU Junior Olympic Championship's. He's also played for Akron Red. He's an Honors Student. I'm sure the Senior High coach will try to recruit him as his 3rd QB from Ontario. His parents won't be as easily swayed.

I was commenting about a similar feat that an Ontario team accomplished to show that youth success does not mean shining moments in high school. I remember reading the article in the Mansfield paper and knew some of the players back then.

He was given the Most Outstanding Player award and their Scholarship Award for carrying a 4.0 GPA.
