I respect his decision, that is probably swayed by a closer locale. However, good luck on any chance of playing for a national championship as a Ute. they have a great coach, are in an easy power-5 division to win, and damn near made the playoffs this season and, Utah is gd beautiful man they have a good program...the kid is from California, i am not surprised he chose Utah and good luck to him Agree with all your points, but it still would be considered a program breakthrough......and yes, it may very well happen. Oregon may have something to say about that, however. I wish the kid the best, as well.

Mike Weber had 172 attempts last year. Dobbins had 230. That is not some time. That is a backfield split. JK had to wait patiently to be a true lead back because Weber was always around and Weber was good enough to deserve some carries. In 2016, the year before J.K. Dobbins arrived on the scene, Weber carried the load with 1,096 yds. on 182 carries. Dobbins enters the picture in 2017 and immediately gets the lions share of carries (194) and racks up 1,403 yds. While J.T. Barrett is the 2nd leading rusher with 798. Weber was relegated to 626 yds. on only 101 carries. In 2017 Weber had that hamstring injury in fall camp and it affected his playing time and carries all season. He missed the opener and only had 7 carries the first 4 games. Dobbins had 62 more carries the 1st 4 games and 30 more carries the next 10 games. So, a 3 carry difference per game for most of the year when Weber could play. I'd say that was a split workload. In 2018, Dobbins had 58 more caries than Weber however, 37 of those extra carries came in the Maryland game when Weber did not play (quad injury). So, Dobbins only had 21 more carries the other 13 games. Less than a 2 carry difference per game. Again, a split workload when Weber played.

The hot rumor floating around is, Mike Yurcich is heading to Texas to be their offensive coordinator. Day can't let that happen, get the check book out and do whatever it takes to keep him on board. He is currently making $900,0000 and worth every penny.

Demote White and make Yurcich the sole O-coordinator. The only way you could pay him 1.5 million, without ALSO paying White 1.5 million. Wilson got a $100,000 raise this year. Tim Beck only made $800,000 this year. Both White and Yurcich made $900,000 this year. Yurchic is from Ohio, why wouldn't he stay home for the same money?

Despite having a two year contract with The Ohio State University and bringing down a generous salary of near 1 million dollars, plus bonuses, Tom Herman was able to lure him away to Texas. That fact doesn't sit well with me. I can't imagine, a program that is virtually, on top of the college football world and perhaps the best WR and QB class ever, coming to Columbus, we couldn't convince this guy to stay? Basically, the same goes for Haffley. Just leaves me shaking my head........

With Day being an offensive coach I’m not concerned about the offensive side of the ball. Losing Haffley will hurt with likely losing up to 7 starters on defense.

Ask yourself why Ohio State's Yurcich born in Ohio, would want the same position at a lesser University half way across the country for around the same money? There was no "luring". You aren't thinking clearly at all when you say Haffley[sic] leaving is the same. He's going to triple his salary. He's an East Coast guy. There are only a hand full of programs in the country that can compete for a National Title. He was never going to get one of those jobs. Boston College can easily become the Penn State/Wisconsin/U of M of the ACC and finish 2nd in the ACC every year. This is NOTHING like taking the job at Rutgers or Colorado State. ACTUALLY, Ryan Day encouraged him to look at the BC job. Ryan is a nicer guy than you.

The more I read reports that Yurcich was often, at odds with the rest of the coaching staff, a difficult person to deal with and a sub-par recruiter, failing to adequately communicate with potential recruits, makes me think this may be a mutual parting of the ways. Things are firmly in Kevin Wilson's control on the offensive side of the ball and there is little doubt, Yurcich will be replaced with a young, enthusiastic QB coach/passing coordinator and our recruiting will be enhanced. Some say that person is already in-house.

Hopefully Shaun Wade decides to return next year. We are losing a lot on defense so that would be huge.
