They should of traded Kluber when they had the chance. they tried. Dodgers weren't really willing to part ways with Bellinger and/or Verdugo. they didn't ask for Bellinger and no one wants Verdugo rofl best offer was from SD but not overwhelming

So far there is no sign of hope for this dreadful team. If the Indians start with a lead (like against Boston) the pitchers will give the lead up. If the other team starts out with a lead they'll keep it and even add on to it. It will be a miracle if the tribe even finishes above .500.

If this team continues to play the way they are,and I have no reason to think they won't, there won't be a 1000 people per game in the stands come Browns season. It's too bad too as I enjoy spending some Sat/Sun afternoons at a game. I have little desire to go right now other than visit my son who lives near downtown.

Here's hoping the comeback win in Boston will jump start the Tribe this season.

Jake Bauers hit for the cycle tonight in Detroit. Ended what had been a one day drought for cycles across MLB.

I thought that the tribe might finish above .500. However, with the awful debacle going on in Baltimore this weekend they WILL NOT.

Indians playing much better, and playing the crap teams in their division sure help their ills once they started hitting a little bit.
As of this writing 1 game out and bouncing back from being I think 12 out at one point.

I believe the Twins go on a 10-12 games stretch vs. Tigers, Orioles,White Sox while we have the Astros,Yankees and Red Sox. I could look up the schedule and be certain but that's too easy.Ha Anyway where we are at the end of August will be the tell tale sign of the fall baseball season.

Indians fixed their outfield. The Mercado promotion has been huge, and J-Ram is finally shaking off what has been like a year-long slump.
Looking forward to seeing OF Daniel Johnson when rosters expand, kid has skills and is having a semi-breakout in Columbus.
ALso, the Indians have perhaps the most exciting group of 19-year old prospects in the game, the pipeline is full and the Tribe Brass is doing an amazing job of re-loading on the fly COACHHAAS style. I don't really see a rebuild on the horizon although a down year or two is certainly possible. It is pretty impressive what they have accomplished with a pitching staff that has been without Kluber and Carrasco for the bulk of the year.
Danny Salazar's rehab is also going extremely well and he could end up making the post season roster as a bullpen piece.

Pretty sure neither Francisco Lindor nor Trever Bauer will finish their career in Cleveland and I get it but man I'll miss those 2 guys if they leave. I love watching Bauer boil over. Makes me laugh.Franky he's just fun to watch.

I wonder if Bauer's antics today just bought him a one way ticket out of Cleveland. it did, but for Puig? More then just Puig. They got Puig, Franmil Reyes(locked up till 2025) Logan Allen-RHP top 50 Prospect, 3B Victor Nova and LHP Scott Moss

Victor Nova is very intriguing to me (i mean Franmil is only 24 and already a beast with 27 hrs this year and Logan a mlb ready lhp starter who has already pitched in the bigs so they are the major gets) as he will join the Indians already elite group of 19 year-olds down on the farm.
Basically we got (2) starting OFs, a LHP starter in Allen, a possible rotation piece in Scott Moss (5th or 6th starter), and a talented kid to add to an already loaded teenage class.
Quite a haul for a guy like Bauer (whom I love and have been a long time apologist for) who was not having a great year and just showed up the most player-friendly manager in the league.

Great assessment. I agree 100%. I loved watching Bauer when he was on, loved watchig him implode when he was going bad and even though he showed up Tito Sunday I rolled laughing. From what I've read most are saying Cleveland won this trade.

Like the trade. Puig in RF,Reyes at DH, should boost offense. Wonder if an OF is on trade block now. Naquin might bring some young talent for future.

I do not like the trade because I like trevor bauer and he would of help the tribe more than cory kluber its going to be a while before kluber be back to him self plus im not high on Salazar and carrasco likely done for the season.plus I cant stand puig hes an instigator and troublemaker with the dodgers and the reds,it seems hes always in the middle of a melee.i don't know much about the other guys.

I cant stand the indians... however I can be objective when it comes to baseball analysis. IMHO this a really good deal for Cleveland. Improves the black hole that was the outfield offense while still getting a pretty damn good LHP. All for bauer that they probably weren't going to sign next year? I do that deal every time.

I really like this trade. Bauer’s value was never going to be higher especially considering he has publicly said he would never sign more that 1 year deals. He has not been the same pitcher this year that he was in the second half of ‘17 and ‘18. They have several arms that will have to step up but what a haul they got. A rental of Puig, Reyes should be a middle of the order hitter for several years, and Allen is young and raw. Plus they got Nova and Moss to help replenish the farm system. We will have to wait a few years to really judge this trade, but the front office knows what they are doing.

I think TB was a very into himself type guy. Opinionated and self motivated. What he did will follow him and I'm guessing people won't forget it anytime soon. Throwing the ball out of the ball park--MLB should have suspended him for a week imo. Will be very interesting to see if the guys we got will transform this team. Guys who can hit 3 run homers blow close games open,,and they can bring you back from the 4-5 run late inning deficits. We were not able to that the last 3-4 years it seemed.

man i think folks are over reacting to his antics a bit, i mean he was dealt because the Indians were overwhelmed with an offer that was too good to pass up...i watched Rick Porcello smash every TV Screen in the clubhouse/dugout with a bat after a poopy performance and imho that is 10x worse than throwing a baseball out of frustration
i agree it was bush league but suspension? maybe a team discipline...Bauer gets a bad rap but he is a very progressive kid and has the balls to do what he thinks is right and the reality is his training regimen and mental attack has been ahead of the curve for his whole life and MLB is just now catching up to him in terms how they allow their guys to train...things like Driveline and long toss and changing batter's eye level with high fastballs
i do think his attitude can turn people off because like a lot of us i think other people's opinions mean very little to Bauer, he can be petulant and condescending for sure...i followed him at UCLA and with the Diamondbacks (who really REALLY hated his personality) and his attitude does turn a lot of people, including teammates, off...but i will miss him, his Twitter follow is fantastic, and he is at the forefront of progressive pitching analytics and arm strengthening

Good Pitcher,,,at times,,,and in the right situation will do a lot of good things for a team. I get the sense almost that he's a guy on the edge of a breakdown. I like intensity,,but what he did is not excusable. At the end of the day, you are either professional or not. I also understand that the Alpha male ego is what sometimes most pro athletes . It's the edge that separates winners and losers. Dude should have gone in the dugout and vented,,,not on the mound in front of an entire stadium . Makes him look childish,,he's better than that.
I wish him well. He did some good things in CLE,,but I feel the trade was the right thing to do and the perfect guy to move.
