Did you win any other the years when Oscar or Jose died?

Oscar maybe.
Jose, I don’t think so, but not really sure

Oscar died in 14 shortly after I won.
Jose died in 16 and I did not win that year.

I see what you’re trying to do.
Just cause it worked that one year when Sabathia couldn’t make a throw to first and it lost me the matchup doesn’t mean it’ll work this year.

I need Herbie the wonderbug to pull out some magic tricks. Maybe I should offer rum and a cigar to wake bats up

Clippers won their series last night so I have the day off to watch baseball all day.
I'll either be celebratory or depressive drinking during the red sox/yankees game

I’d say you are good, another wasted year. 😑 Although I feel like I’m a year ahead of schedule in the complete rebuild.

Ok wtf.
Who owns the tiebreak between me and TIG?

I know who should have the tie breaker. The person who won both head to head matchups and had a better regular season record.
Espn seems to say otherwise.

Wow. So if we decide to overturn it, would you be able to overturn it on ESPN, or would the title matchup have to be done manually?

The settings page for our league says head 2 head for playoff tiebreaker. Which I believe would be TIG in this case. FWIW, on ESPN it makes it clear that head to head to head is the tiebreaker for playoff seeding, and doesn't say anything specific about the tiebreaker for a playoff matchupAs for our league rulebook document, according to my ctrl+f, the word "tie" only comes up 3 times in the entire thing, with the only relevant passage being: This, also appears to only refer to seeding, but isn't worded very specifically

As per SITH this morning, it should be able to be forced through if we overturn.
I haven’t looked at it yet this morning. Just woke up from my work nap and am going to get some coffee and look at it.
There’s a vague memory of this happening before, where someone advanced and we weren’t sure why, but maybe it was a consolidation bracket, maybe in our first year.
I know me and TESL ties last year, but he was also the higher seed, had the head to head advantage and the higher winning %

It probably should have been handled then, or at least made more concrete. I would lean more towards applying the rule that most of us thought we were playing with (h2h is tie-breaker, best record is second tie-breaker) over applying the default rule set by ESPN. I could be wrong on assuming that most people thought it was h2h though.

As usual, I find ESPN's use of language poor. When I initially read through the league settings page I made the assumption that h2h record against the teams was the tiebreak.
If this has happened before I can't recall it. I will say i probably only remember if it happened to me.
Is this the 1st time??
My gut tells me the 1st tiebreak should be win%. I can see how that conflicts with the divisional winner format for seeding purposes.

And no matter the outcome, we need lay firm tiebreaker rules out to at least 3 variables and put that into the constitution.
