What does this mean for the arrows future? Possible replacements on the staff? Or will they go outside?

It's going to be hard to replace what Valentine has given at Ashland. What he did in his 17 years at Ashland will be hard to top. There are a few really good coaches on staff at Ashland that could take over, and with the timing of the decision I hope they go that way. The biggest void with Coach V stepping down is on the offense side, where he ran the offense. Will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

Does the timing of this cause a head scratch or add to the idea that an inside replacement is in works.

The timing seems off to me. I truly think he wanted to coach another year. Anytime Coach V had a returning starting QB good things happen and he had one who is back next year. I don't know what finally tipped the scale to hang it up, but he has been thinking about it for the past year plus. There are candidates on the staff right now, and I would guess 1 of them will get an interim tag and then re-evaluate it after next year.

Will the new complex be completed by the start of football practice?

Start of football practice might be close. Should be good to go for the first game though. Rough weather this spring really pushed the timeline. But the roof is on and things are moving pretty good. Can’t wait to see the new lights. Will be a great facility when it’s done.

Still waiting to here about the next coach of the Ashland Arrows. Still feel they give someone on the staff the job on a 1 year trial and then revisit after next season. I have a few names that might be interesting but have no clue if they would be interested. Hope we find out in the next week or so.

Sounds like Ashland has named Sean Seder the interim football coach. Seder has been on staff for a few year now working on the offensive side of the ball. He is also been very successful as the head wrestling coach at Ashland. He also has experience come coaching football in Texas before coming to Ashland. Not who I thought it was going to be but should be a solid choice. Will then open it back up after next season.

From what I heard this weekend, several of Valentine's coaches have resigned. Could be a tough upcoming season.

From what I heard this weekend, several of Valentine's coaches have resigned. Could be a tough upcoming season. I have not heard this, but it also doesn't surprise me. I will wait and see who it is, but there where several coaches on the staff that had been on for a very long time, and probably saw this as an opportunityto move on. My guess is most of the staff will still be there. I also expect Ashland to continue to be a solid program.

I hope the team transitions well. This will be the 30th anniversary of the 0-10 season (89-90).

I hope the team transitions well. This will be the 30th anniversary of the 0-10 season (89-90). The team will be fine. What Coach V did Ashland will be remembered forever, but the measure of how he did at Ashland will also be tied to how he left the program and I think he has left it in a great place. This team should be hungry because they underachieved big time last year.

From what I heard this weekend, several of Valentine's coaches have resigned. Could be a tough upcoming season. From the look of the last school board meeting info, all the main assistant coaches are back for next year. Even a few I thought might be done. So unless something changes looks like the staff should be good to go for this year.

I hope the team transitions well. This will be the 30th anniversary of the 0-10 season (89-90). That was my Senior year at Fremont Ross, and we scrimmaged the Arrows that year. They didn't look half bad for eventually going winless although, yes, it was just a scrimmage.
