I'll add more to this as I get time. The newest enrollment numbers, and henceforth football divisions have been released on OHSAA. No regions have been posted yet. As far as changes in the MOAC go, River Valley has moved up to D3 from D4. There seemed to be an influx of familiar schools into the northwest D4, such as Clyde, Perkins, Fostoria, Upper Sandusky, and Ottawa Glandorf. The only schools to leave the region looked like St. Mary's, Lima Bath, and River Valley. I don't like any of the ways I formatted the league data, so I'll leave that up to someone else if I don't eventually get to it. But here are some other notable area changes: - Ashland from D2 to D3 - Wynford is D5, Bucyrus is D6 Here is the link: ohsaa.org/Sports-Tournaments/Football/Football-2019

With Perkins and Clyde dropping down and Upper Sandusky moving up to D4, several MOAC schools are now on the fringe of getting moved to region 15. That would be Galion, Shelby, Ontario and Clear Fork. Not good if you can't get a home playoff game in the first round as travel is brutal. However, that region is traditionally weak so chances of a deep playoff run are good.

I took a light look at things yesterday, and I believe there is a good chance that the Richland County area schools can still stay in the Northwest. Here are my *rough* estimate of schools that left/entered each region. Left Region 13: 9 Enter Region 13: 5 Left Region 14: 3 Enter Region 14: 7 (include Toledo Scott and Rossford) Left Region 15: 7 Enter Region 15: 7 Left Region 16: 7 Enter Region 16: 7 Overall, the imbalances come from the Northwest and Northeast regions. However, the Northwest Region 14 had quite a few Cleveland area schools during the last alignment. They can shift over to the Northeast to help supplant the schools that left while also balancing out the overflow of schools in the Northwest region.

Makes sense but the OHSAA has always been awful at geography. We'll see soon enough.

It's not really a geographical issue; Regions/Divisions have to be balanced, and when not ideally balanced in geographical sense, we get what we get.

For instance, in 2016 they had Shelby in region 15 and Highland in region 14. Geographically, that doesn't make any sense. It should've been the other way around.

In some realm, it was acceptable by OHSAA. On the other hand, Highland was closer to about every single region 15 school than Shelby. Overall, I'm ok. Being in region 15 let Shelby play playoff games at Westerville Central and Massillon. Cool locations.
