SMCC needs to be put on life support. Then, how long before they just pull the plug? Shame.

I think this is interesting from the perspective of any resident paying taxes to support local schools. As a tax paying member of any community, should I have any expectation of using the "public school" facilities?

Sandusky City Schools is a tax supported entity. Why is it all the sudden controversial to expect them to charge other entities for facility use? The fee before wouldn’t even keep the lights on.

As a tax paying member of any community, should I have any expectation of using the "public school" facilities? You do, actually. Namely the track, and (if you're at PHS) the fitness trail. Some schools would make the effort to set aside time when some of their facilities (practice gym, natatorium) were open for public use, though these days, that's nearly gone because of security fears. Call the AD, though. You might be surprised.

They have paid little over the years. A new swimming pool is coming and costs increase as time goes on. Suck it up St Mary’s, I think 60,000 is way to much, maybe half of that. They had plenty of kids transfer while advertising free tuition throughout Sandusky so use some of that money.

Doesn't sound like much of a battle. Sandusky owns it and SM's wants to use it. Pay or be gone. After reading the article, I would say that SM's has been given a gift for all the years prior and now Sandusky has finally realized it's a business agreement.

Lets see here......continue to use our facilities for dirt cheap while you take students from us and we lose out on tax dollars, sounds like an easy decision to me. Sounds like Sandusky has decided it is time to step up and be the big boy on the block and stop handing things over to SMCC. Maybe SMCC needs to go to say Cedar Fair and get some money like Sandusky did.

There is no doubt, however, that between the church’s priceless art, land, gold and investments across the globe, it is one of the wealthiest institutions on Earth. The Vatican is said to have a net worth of $10 - $15 billion.Hmmmm..... Just sayin.....

Has Sandusky finally figured out how to run a construction project or is Eugene still botching it?
