Heck of a win Tonite at Norwalk. This team can be special we were shorthanded Tonite and coach grey tried to take skeeter and Cooper out of the game with a triangle and two and boy did Trey Paxton and miles pingston shine along with adelman doing some nice things out there.nice to see Cooper and skeeter put team first. They trusted their teammates and their teammates responded very well. The best I've seen the Paxton boy play and if he can play like that going forward... watch out. Makes our team dangerous. Norwalk is down this year but they still played us hard. Going to be a special year so fans let's get behind these boys and do something we haven't done in a long time.we can only get better. I love the make up of this team.lets go...go flashes

First game I saw this year.
There wasn’t 1 second I thought Norwalk would win this game, even when Willard went in a funk with 20 seconds left in the half until late 3rd quarter. Ugh 2 turnovers a possible 8 point swing and Norwalk given life when it could have easily been a 38-19 HT score.
They won’t be able to play like that against better teams, but it’s nice to see grinding out wins when you’re a little short handed and have an ‘off’ quarter.
Liked what I saw from the Flashes. Baldridge a bit of a reminder of Fey, Parrot best we’ve had since Jimmy graduated, Myles clearly took another step forward, if Paxton’s on we go from very good to great and he’s making the strides.
I told a friend last night watching this team “winters in Ohio are so much nicer when we have a great flashes basketball team to watch”

Like to give a shout out to Joe and hirsh.i figured coach grey would try and take Cooper and skeeter out of the game as much as possible.the start of the second half Norwalk faceguarded skeeter and trapped Cooper Everytime he touched it and guess what...Joe knew it also and must of worked on it in practice and it showed.now thats good coaching.nice job.

The Flashes with the quick turn-around, hosting Carey tonight in their first home game.

There's no "If" about it. It happened. I don't agree about who won when it mattered. Willard didn't play them in the tourney either year. If anything, it gives credence to match ups are important. Lex didn't match up well against Willard those years and Willard beat them fair and square. One year Lex only lost the one game to Willard and the other they lost just twice---both seasons finishing as State Champs. Oh, I think it mattered---lol ! Because we can say we beat the State Champs,,,both times. I'm sorry I'm late to this party, but was this matchup or two nearly evenly matched teams in which the home team did what it was supposed to do? Especially considering back then it was nearly impossible to win at Willard. If anything, it enhanced Lex's already tougher schedule, and made Minutemen more battle tested for tournament.

Lex was the better team, just not those games. Haas had a game plan that worked well both times.
In the tournament, Willard just played like crap and got upset by inferior teams. While Lex got hot and improved throughout .

While Lex got hot and improved throughout . In tournament, the better team usually wins unless they are teams that have history with each other. When teams can plan and prepare for a regular season team or a tournament game against a team they see in season, it is different because the scouting and week long practices can find a weakness. Quick turnarounds for tournament can be make it tougher to scout and prepare so talent and game coaching is more visible.

Willard stomping Carey tonight. Skeeter had 5 dunks by the end of 3 when I left. A little sloppy but some solid moments. Willard looks like a very good D3 team. Carey has a big guy who sat the first half. Apparently a pinch naughty in school last week.

Max preps has Willard ranked #8 in division 3. Not that rankings mean a damn thing now but sure is nice to see us in the top ten. Only the ranking at the end of the season means anything

What matters at the end of the season is getting to Columbus, and winning, something we have never done. We have been ranked # 1 a bunch of times at the end of the season, and never won a game in Columbus.

What matters at the end of the season is---getting the most out of the talent and the team that you can possibly hope for. I think we did that last year, so even though we lost big to Coldwater,,it was still a very successful season . Some years, it is Columbus as a potential destination. Other years its a Regional Semi. Other years its District Finals--Success imo is getting as far as you possibly can. For me, I'm not ready to say this is a State Team. Let's win the next one and the next,,if we keep doing that---the rest will take care of itself.
As I watched our team vs Carey, there are certainly some things we do very well,,but also some areas we need to improve on,,and with time I think we can.

This team is pretty damn good. If we play as a TEAM were going to hard to beat

Willard really good, most teams they've played are not. far as Huron game , should be interesting.. only common opponent each team has played is port clinton (not a good team to judge off) Willard won by 32 Huron won by 26 .. The real interesting part of Willard schedule comes late January - st paul, oak harbor, shelby, oak harbor.. by then oak harbor should be in basketball shape..they will be tough out...

Only way Willard gets beat in the regular season this year is if the team they are playing is way more physical and play tenacious in your face d-fence. We saw that physical aspect in the Upper game and Willard was able to manage through it, with one of Upper's better players sitting 2nd half for what may have been an injury in first half (ankle?). Only team that will be physical with Willard will be Oak Harbor. St Paul is too small to compete against Willard and the 1-3-1 will give them fits. The Pugh kid from Shelby struggles against Willard for some reason and they only have 3 players that score, that won't be enough against Willard. I thought Huron may challenge Willard but right now the Flashes are clicking on all cylinders and that will likely be a 20 point win for Willard. Flashes are doing a nice job with the bench but when they are up by 30 they need to continue to play the adelman, cok and weiss kid as much as they can to get them ready for the tournament, they'll need them.

Wonder when the last time, if ever, Willard has won 3 consecutive games by 40+ points? I figured they woulda tried to beef up the non league schedule this year or even last year having an idea they would be a pretty good team. instead of playing buckeye central types.

When last years schedule was put together they had no idea the Parrott and Triplet were going to transfer to Willard. With the schedule they did have, those two may have taken them from a 12-10 season to 19-3.

Huron out-rebounded that physical Oak Harbor. The twins were a non-factor, one didn't play much and the other was held in check. Tigers have good size and length, they play some sticky defense. Not saying Willard won't beat them by 20, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this goes down to the wire. And they have used to success that 1-3-1 you talk about.
