Bolts are still just too powerful. Nice that OH seems to be doing better this year already, though.

In this unusual year, I think this will be a hell of a battle. Edison has had a soft schedule but has handled it well and as they should. OH on the other hand has been surprising in both ways. A great conference opener for these teams. A win will strengthen either team, but a loss could hurt either team for the rest of the year dramatically.

Fair to call this the game of the week for the SBC

I'm going with Rambo on this one but tough to call. OH takes a whipping by Genoa but then beats Eastwood who I thought was better than Genoa. Edison always plays OH tough.

Historically how does May defend Hall's option? I think that maybe the key to this game.

I think that I'll take in this game tonight, if it doesn't rain. I don't have my poncho with me any more, she rotted away, anyway are there gonna be any tailgating out there that I can take in.

Havent had a kid playing for years now but it always seemed OH had to outscore Edison as opposed to playing great defense.

Last year Edison led by just two points with 3:18 left in the game before Moyer put it away with a 58-yard TD run. Edison was 3-0 going into that game as well.
In 2014, a really bad 3-7 season for Oak Harbor, the Rockets lost 14-7 to Edison on the road.
In 2013 when both teams were .500 clubs, OH whooped Edison 42-21.
I think this should be a good game. I'm not sure where sharonpeters is getting his/her opinion that May doesn't do it "very well."
The reason I'd take Edison in this game is because I think their speed is a little concerning for OH, but at the same time, I think the Rockets, minus the mental approach to Genoa, are a much improved team this season.

Go back to 2008 when may took over. Regardless, a loss is a loss. If may, who is supposedly a defensive minded coach was so great his teams would have won the close losses.

i am stunned by the score,im not suprised that the chargers won but win by 42. i thought the rockets would give us a test since last week toak harbor upset nbl favorite eastwood 35-28. chargers won 49-7.

Eastwood played about the worst game it could have played against OH. Turnovers, penalties, and a normally stout defense (thus far) making big mistakes. I think if OH/Eastwood played 10 times, Eastwood wins 7 of 10. OH is tough though. They will beat Huron, St. Joe, and Vermillion. And I think they have a chance of possibly taking one from Perkins or Port Clinton if they play really well on that given night. Obviously rushing for 35 yards on 30 carries like they did against Edison won't get the job done.

Teams with speed are going to give Oak Harbor problems. That being said Oak Harbor may well be able to ground and pound them into submission. Oak Harbor should easily handle Vermillion and SJCC. Then again I talk about ground and pound for Oak Harbor and they go out and run for 35 yards on a team they are bigger than.

I am not surprised at this score at all. I'm not sure where OHSN gets his information but this years team is nowhere near as good as last years team. OH will continue to be average at best as long as May is there.

May is simply out of his league in the SBC. Both he and the AD need to go if OH ever wants to return to being a football power again.

He ain't ever leaving Oak Harbor, may not be the HC but he's there for life now. Been teaching to long to get a SS job any where else, unless he is licensed in Math, Science or Special Ed (Special Ed being the most realistic).

I think he's a math teacher, not sure. Hope they somehow get it turned around. No playoffs since 2008 and no winning record since 2012.
That's not old school Oak Harbor football.

First of all, I picked Edison to win the game because of its speed. Did I say I think OH is better this year than last...yes, I do. At the same time wins/losses don't always show a team that is better/worse than the year before. Sometimes it has to do with player experience, potential, mental approach, etc. It's just my opinion.
Also, at this point in my "opinionated predictions" I don't know if I'd take OH over St. Joe. St. Joe isn't bad. They will pick apart a lot of teams passing, but they just need to mentally get over the hump.
