Just saw your post on Yappi. So, that means NP keep their Week 10 game with Dover? Yes, they will pay $$$ one of the current OCC schools to play them in week 3 so they can have their week 10 free.

Is starting in 2022-23 school year for all sports? Some OCC schools had contract commitments they did not want to change to create openings but you may see NP playing some of the schools if they have open dates in sports before then.

If New P was really a good fit then schools would have already been playing them nonleague.

It looks like Mansfield Senior filled their week 2 opening with a rematch with Trotwood-Madison. That makes Norwalk, T-M, Lima Sr, and Sandusky their non-conference games. Anyone got a tougher N-C schedule?

They'll be ok in a year. With the expanded playoffs they can get in with a 4-6 record.
As an aside. Chioke has recruited his third QB in a row from Ontario.

Anyone got a tougher N-C schedule? I doubt anyone in the OCC will top that. Ashland will host the defending D4 State Champion Clyde along with Sandusky, Tiffin and Tri Valley. Hopefully it won’t end up being as tough as last years schedule.

Yea it was rough. 7 of 10 teams with winning records, 5 teams that made the playoffs, 3 teams made the regional finals, 1 state runner up and 1 state champion. Four of those teams also came in the first 4 weeks of the year.

Is the QB from Ontario any good? Mansfield won't be very good this year. They lose one of the best classes in school history. Add in that non conference schedule and they will be lucky not to be 0-4 right out of the gates. The do have a couple good players back but they have to replace a whole offensive line,QB, RB and TE and a heck of an Athlete. Only way I see them having a good season is if the Playoff Run brought out a crap ton of talent that was just sitting around.

The QB from Ontario that is now at Mansfield played varsity as a freshman and sophomore for Ontario. Both years he may have split time. He also played some jv basketball as a freshman. An Ontario coach has told me that the Ontario Athletic office has filed papers with Ohsaa claiming recruiting violations against Mansfield sports. Will anything come of this other than gossip? The coach claims there have been a high number of kids transfer there.

The QB in question was beat out last year by a quicker/faster kid. Neither was that good of a passer. Of course it's difficult to pass with much accuracy if the O-line can't protect. His playing time in bball has diminished due to him not working on his game in the off season. He probably would have been on JV again as a Junior, if he went out. His dad thinks he's next in line from Senior's minor league team, but he's not close to as good as 6-3 Sid Caudill or 6-2 Cam Todd, both good passers....he's 5-10.
Although it's illegal for a coach to even talk to a parent before his kid has officially transferred. You'd have to get someone to admit that an individual at Senior initiated a conversation. Not gonna happen.
I don't know about dude's "high number". There's only been 3 kids of significance in history. Two Caudill kids and one Todd. Two other Todd kids did not transfer. Far more kids have transferred from Mansfield to Ontario.
