Anything out there on Wooster and/or New Philly? Heard the Generals applied to the Suburban League (not happening IMO) and New Philly possibly to OCC even though they joined the OVAC in April. Not sure if there are legs to either rumor.

Wooster did not get the selection from the Suburban. New Philly has been invited to join the OCC.

Do you know who was selected for the Suburban? Over the weekend I was told Solon was a favorite but could not confirm.

Also heard that New Philly has told the OCC they are ready to join ONLY if they could keep their week 10 football contest with Dover.

75 miles from Lexington? Marion a lot closer!

New Philly has requested special scheduling for their football team in week 10 if any current OCC team would be willing to adjust their week 10 schedule. This is happening and New Phil is offering a payment to the school for this to happen.

I hope New Philly is asking to split that payment with Dover to keep their important week 10 rivalry game going.

If New Philly joins, there is no way this league stays intact "as is". Lex's best option (MOAC) dried up with Highland joining that conference. Maybe the SBC Lake doesn't look so bad for Madison and Lex?

If you are looking for long term if the OCC will not stay intact, I doubt considering every league game being close to an hour drive would be long term.

How would "every" league game be "close to an hour"? When Lex, Senior, Madison and Ashland would be playing each other, since you think all 4 to the SBC would be wiser. Mansfield to Norwalk is around 35 miles. Senior, Madison, Lex, Ashland, Norwalk, Sandusky, Tiffin and Clyde would be a nice league. Only half of league games for all would be "close to an hour".

^Where does that leave Bellevue? To the Bay?

Or Perkins? I think that’s what King was implying in the first place. Lex and Madison would find the SBC Lake more appealing to join Norwalk, Sandusky, Perkins, Clyde, Bellevue, and TC.

Bellevue, Perkins, PC, V, OH, Edison, Huron, Willard.
Marg with the the river schools.
No more Lake. No more Bay. Two nice NEW 8 school leagues. Division and crossovers squabbles end.

Ashland 363, Madison 352, Sandusky 338, TC 333, Norwalk 318, Senior 312(hard to believe), Lex 290, Clyde 256
Bellevue 252, Perkins 252, Vermillion 248, PC, 228, Huron 208, Edison 199, OH 196, Willard 176

I don't think the OCC will fall because there is just no where else to go. These schools are stuck together

I was asking because if the OCC falls, why chose Madison and Lex over Mansfield and or Ashland. Because Ashland has been good with the eastern push of the OCC, from what I understand and because Mansfield would be the school the SBC would want of those four. Madison has had some discussions with the SBC and they changed their minds once already so to me that shows the SBC is not a strong option for them. It's more of a last option. Lexington has talked about the SBC and to this point has no interest, none, in being in a league that would require that much travel. Even if Madison did join, the bus trips to Sandusky, Perkins, Clyde, Norwalk, Bellevue and Tiffin would all take about an hour or more. Ashland wants an 8 school league that has a main focus on football. The only reason for the "eastern push" is nobody from the west is acceptable for Wooster. When Shelby wanted in they were okay with that. Mansfield will go anywhere they are accepted. Their fear is being left out. Similar to the situation of Marion Harding.

The SBC might welcome the compensation of allowing New Philly to join, And letting them have their week 10 ritual with Dover. Travel would not be all that far. Here's some other comparable High School League opponents, Billing, Mt. To Missoula (Sentinel), Mt. 345 miles, Or Cheyenne (Central), Wy. To Rock Spring, Wy. 257 Miles. And we complain about travel.

Imagine being Defiance in the WBL or Lima in the TRAC. Richland county isn't too far for New Philly. Nor would Richland and Ashland County be too far for the Lake Div.

I don't think the OCC will fall because there is just no where else to go. These schools are stuck together The current availability of schools is low that is very true, but do not kid yourself that every school is happy with their current situation. There are SBC schools who would like something better. There are MOAC schools that would like a small change. There are OCC schools who would like something different. The KMAC is looking for change and could have an effect. Of course this is all just talk and cannot be proven in a court of law, but sometimes that how change gets started, with talk.

Don't forget that Defiance is one of 10 so they reduced their league travel in sports by only playing each school 1 time a season. Which cuts their travel in half compared to schools in leagues of 8.

I'm aware no one is happy but there is nothing to make anyone any happier at the moment. Unless a school appears out of thin air or dominoes start to fall somewhere else in the state and ripple to here, things are just gonna be stuck for a while. Maybe census data may put into perspective some districts size and shift them a bit.

In response to your thought of schools being stuck, opportunities open and talks are going on all the time. Even though we may not directly see it, it is going on. the domino you speak of can come from anywhere and at anytime.

Just saw your post on Yappi.
So, that means NP keep their Week 10 game with Dover?
