Leipsic Leaving BVC

Per @courier_Sports twitter, said they have plans but not willing to announce them yet.


BREAKING NEWS: Leipsic High School will be leaving the Blanchard Valley Conference after the 2021-22 season. Leipsic school board voted 5-0 in Monday's board of education meeting to leave conference. Leipsic has been member of BVC for football since 1965 and all sports since 1971


Leipsic AD Gary Kreinbrink in phone interview just now: "We were just unsure of the football situation in our conference." Noted that some schools are continuing to get bigger, while other schools are among smallest in state.


Kreinbrink said what conference Leipsic will be going next is "something I don't want to get into right now." However, he said: "We certainly have a plan."

It sure sounds like more than just moving from one conference to another.  That could have been announced right away.  I think we will know more soon.

That puts to rest thoughts of a new conference. Now, it will be interesting to see if the NWC is done. More interesting is what happens to the BVC. It's not at all ideal at this point with 10 schools, 40% of which are struggling football members.

Not necessarily.  I knew before that pronouncement by Leipsic that the NWC had already offered Leipsic.

Don't get me wrong, maybe they will take it next week.

But if you were gonna take it anyway, ask yourself this...why wait?

Just have the Board withdraw from the BVC in one vote, and then accept the offer from the NWC in the next.  Done.

But that didn't happen....and I'm sure Jafo has heard some of the same things I have.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Leipsic is having another meeting tonight to discuss where they go from here. NWC is definitely not the only option.
