As an optimist, I believe there will be a football season this year. Who are some of the key players returning for each school that should contribute? For Pleasant, Austin Shaffer returns at QB. He will have some big bodies back in front of him as 6'4" 315 pounds Ethan Enders returns at center and 6'0" 255 pounds Cale Chase is back as well. CJ Smith will probably be the featured back and Kaden Ralston the best wideout returning.

Shelby lost several key contributors on both sides of the ball but a lot of the skill positions are back, lead by 1,000 yard back Owen Fisher. Top three receivers are back in Bowman, Lantz and Hill. A few of the lineman are also back. Of course the big question mark will be how effectively Marshall Shepherd can be taking over for Maguire Albert at QB. Marek Albert and Nathan Zehner will lead the defense. Should be a fun team to watch.
Oh, and I too am an optimist that we will have a season.

I was surprised with how well they did last year. I think they have a solid staff and a good core coming back. CF and Pleasant are going to be in the mix heavily. Well coached hard nosed teams. Should be a fun one in the MOAC this year? Galion have anything back? Ontario?

If schools vote to not play teams from Dewine Red County how badly does that mess with schedules.

Numbers are up at Ontario, but they're a couple years away from competing. Both 7th and 8th had good teams last year, only losses were close games to CF.

Yep he’s back a senior this year. Also back is one of the wide receivers from last year. He struggled at times to catch the ball. If he can improve there, he will be in good shape. Tremendous athlete.

I'm not football savvy. I don't understand the plays very well, and I don't know what the flag was thrown for, ever.
However, I have heard more positive talk than usual for a non-Armstrong led Shelby team. I like to think Shelby has a good season ahead of them.

I think Shelby is the team to beat. Pleasant and Clear Fork are always going to be in the discussion as well because they’re so well coached and hard nosed. Both did lose a bunch though. Galion should be sneaky good again. But we shall see. I just really hope we are able to have a season this year.

Ontario's TV and radio stations will significantly increase their coverage of HS sports this fall. Not only football and soccer, but volleyball for the first time. They're looking for more people to do the broadcasts. Let me know of you're interested, I have a contact.

Galion City Schools will not be allowing any spectators for their scrimmage against Tiffin Columbian tomorrow night. They will be live streaming it and it will be on YouTube.

Have any of the schools published anything about how many spectators will be allowed, must wear masks, anything of that nature?

Have any of the schools published anything about how many spectators will be allowed, must wear masks, anything of that nature? Not much difference between schools. Likely 2-4 tickets per home participant and likely less for away participants (2-3). Masks are required at all times for spectators. That’s a part of the order. It’s based on 15% of seated capacity. That makes it pretty dang small when you figure two teams, two cheer squads and home band.

I question the accuracy of that site. They have Shelby as 900. They have to have 3 times that number.

I’ve been told Shelby is allowed 500. That puts capacity at 3333 at 15%.

I question the accuracy of that site. They have Shelby as 900. They have to have 3 times that number. Probably because they going by the capacity of the bleachers for the track behind the high school. That's also the address they use. At some point though within the next five years or sooner, the football field will be moved there.

Pleasant is working with someone to live stream the home games (they are even going to have the camera on a wire running down the field like they do for "big time" football, I hear). There will be a fee to watch it though. Are any other schools going to be live streaming their home games for those who can't get a ticket? If so, can you pass along the link for the live stream site? Pleasant's will be at ihunter-productions1.webnode.com/live/

Did I hear Lucas is going with an all road game schedule? I can only assume this is largely in part due to the size of their stadium and limited attendance based on the new rules
