I heard Shelby didn’t look terribly impressive in their scrimmage with Norwalk. But Ontario is no Norwalk. About the only similarity is their school colors. Will be interesting to see if Ontario has an answer for Marek Albert this year. I believe he had 4-5 sacks against them last season.Over/ Under On how many he gets this week?

I wonder how the secondary market for tickets is coming along.

How much cash would it take for a band parent to sell their ticket on the open market?

I have always said I would have paid at least $50 to hear the halftime speech that Port Clinton coaching gave to their players after Shelby was up 62-0 at halftime on them in 2017.
Reasonably, I can see myself bidding up to that amount for the right game. I was originally planning on using the Shelby vs Ontario game to take in another game in the area, which means I'd go face value at best here.

How much cash would it take for a band parent to sell their ticket on the open market? I would hope the answer to this is that there is no amount of money that would take me away from seeing my child in person. But this is 2020, and one screwed up year. No telling what some people are willing to do.

Depends on how badly they want their kid's freshman year textbooks paid for. Also depends on how much moral angst I want to leverage on a family for my own selfish wants.
Then again, I can't necessarily rely on my annual 50/50 raffle win to bankroll these little fantasies of mine.

While on the topic of Shelby, I read today that the old Mansfield Mototsports Park is being sold and a portion of the bleachers are being removed and donated to the Shelby City Schools. It was being rumored they were to be used for a new football field at the school complex. Anyone from Dhelby know any more about this?

A friend told me the same benefactor, Grant Milliron, who donated money to build the new Shelby Fire Department building a few years ago owned the Motorsports Park. It would make sense that he would warrant those bleachers to be donated to Shelby City Schools, he's a Shelby guy. If I recall, he donated near if not entirely 100% of the money needed for the Fire Department building to be built. Most of you would most recognize him by proxy as the owner of Milliron Recycling.

Correct. Apparently Grant Milliron outbid the owner of Norwalk Raceway to buy it for $800,000.

Ok. I would trust that. My friend was getting his info through the telephone game so we both were a bit unclear.

Then again, I can't necessarily rely on my annual 50/50 raffle win to bankroll these little fantasies of mine. I had not thought of that. 50/50 raffles at games this year won't amount to much. Maybe the booster club should just setup a table and ask for a $20 donation instead of the raffle. Will the booster club be allowed in the game to sell anything? Will it be worth their while or safety to have the concession stands open? What about restrooms? The most unhealthy place at a football game.

I heard Shelby schools is paying to have the portion of the stands they want torn down and rebuilt. That cost is over half a million, but less expensive and the stands will be of a higher quality than they could have bought new.

Will it be worth their while or safety to have the concession stands open? What about restrooms? The most unhealthy place at a football game. I think there could be some novel ways the booster clubs could manage to do some sales. If they don't want to deal with cash, I wonder if people would be receptive to writing down their card info on a form (clean the pen) in order to transact on non-raffle goods? In fact, I know Shelby basketball had one of those Square card readers to register people for their annual Whippet Spectacular. I would hate for there to not exist a way for this to work. The 50/50 is basically condemned this season if I had to guess. Concessions, I don't know. Clemson said they were willing to have 19K fans in their stadium this season. I don't know if concessions are a part of their equation. If it is, I wonder how much Shelby could replicate what they are doing. I truly think a lot of this could be pretty easy to maintain order and protocols with considering the photos I have been seeing of stadiums tonight. Very empty. I am also not current on what best practices are for concessions and the like in these times.

The 50/50 winner's share at our away game last night was only around $150. Considering Shelby's last year averaged around $250-$500, that isn't all that bad.

Shelby fumbled inside the 10 just before half. Closer than the score indicates. Ontario has moved the ball, but a fumble and an INT that went through the hands of a receiver ended 2 Ontario drives.
