Like last week against Shelby, Ontario started out slow. Falling behind 14-0 in the 1st quarter, then outscored Lucas 21-14 in the next 3 quarters. Lucas scoring on the last play of the game for the win.
Some amazing unofficial stats from the game. Lucas rushed for 340 yards on 70 carries an average of 4.1 yards/carry. Ontario had 98 yards rushing on 20 carries for an average of almost 5 yards per carry. Ontario had 21 passing plays completing 14 for 161 yards. Lucas was 1 of 4 on passes for 30 yards. Ontario 20 running plays, 21 passes. Lucas 70 rushes, 4 passes.
Lucas ran 74 plays, Ontario 41.
No INTs or fumbles in the game. Ontario with 35 yards in penalties, Lucas 15

Lucas looks to be very easy to plan for but very difficult to stop. Extremely disciplined and very confident on both sides of the ball. Off to a good start as a D7 team playing in a big school league for them. |

Lucas is actually showing how smaller schools can compete in a larger league.

Thanks for all the kind words. The coaches would definitely appreciate them. The Cubs have been down three starters for both games we've played (quarantine from Lexington scrimmage). Give us a little more time to get dialed in. This team can make a run at the finals again.

Thanks for all the kind words. The coaches would definitely appreciate them. The Cubs have been down three starters for both games we've played (quarantine from Lexington scrimmage). Give us a little more time to get dialed in. This team can make a run at the finals again. I'm surprised to hear that since the Lexington kid with positive test is a back up jv player and was recorded playing only about 10 plays. Why did Lucas have 3 starters in the scrimmage during the jv portion of the scrimmage? |
