And no Buckeye glasses on for me, I’m afraid Clemson beats us by 2 TD’s or more.

It’s great to make the playoffs but Clemson is going to continue to own us. We have the talent to match them but this team just isn’t on the same level as last year’s team.

Ohio State is the only good team in the Big Ten. Which is the reason Ohio State looked bad today. There isn't an above average defense in the East Division.

Clemson has showed this year they lack having a phenomenal defense. If there is a rematch between the buckeyes and Clemson, I think it’s going to come down to whose defense is going to make the big plays for turnovers.
There is no question the buckeyes can play with anyone, I just beg the question, which Buckeye football team will show up.

If ND makes the playoffs, they’re going to end the season by getting curb stomped by Clemson and then Alabama.

After seeing the game today I'm more concerned about what Ohio State's offense is going to do. They did not do well today against the first good defense they faced this year.

The semifinal game getting moved from the Rose Bowl to Dallas. Good chance that’s where the Buckeyes will be.

Whatever happened to the short passing game, with the quick slants, that moved the ball down the field? Want to see more of a run/pass mix, featuring the short passing game, incorporating the TE's. With what we witnessed 2nd half, we can be a run first, to set-up the pass offense, once again.
For whatever reason, this offense has become unimaginative. The slow developing pass plays, put too much pressure on Justin. He's no longer a Heisman consideration for a reason....our passing game has become less effective and needs to be restored.
I think one huge building block, going forward, is the strong establishment of the running game. This offense and especially, the offensive line, should be hanging their hat on making holes and moving people for Trey Sermon. This translates into the all important element of 'time of possession', that can become a huge, deciding factor against the Alabama's and Clemson's. Keeping the ball out their hands, eating up yardage and the clock, is a huge advantage.

Just a thought, but what if Day was holding plays back for the playoff game? I think we'll come up with a game plan to put us in position to beat Clemson. There's no better Buckeye team than the one that is an underdog going in. We would have scored a TD at the end if not for the mercy unwritten rule. 29-10 your final. I thought our defense played much much better in 2nd half. Guys were flying around. As long as we get all of our guys back for the Clemson game, we'll compete and it will boil down to who makes the least amound of mistakes.

Willard,
Couldn’t agree more!
Buckeyeskid,
I think that’s a real possibility.
After thinking about it, there is a part of me that says you need to get as much in to get the guys ready as possible. I can also see the coaches holding things back for the playoffs. I curiosity though goes to the slow decline of the passing game. The program knows more than we do, let’s just hope there is a method to this madness if you will.

I think with a mere 6 games under their belt, the coaches are still learning what this teams capabilities are and the offense has almost, but not quite found it's identity. The powerful rushing attack, goes a long way in answering who they are and what they can become in the playoffs. The Buckeyes came out 2nd half and made a statement. The offensive line made a statement and Trey Sermon made a strong statement. Going forward, these guys are going to pride themselves on playing a tough, physical, brand of football between the tackles. Which will open up the play-action passing game. Kudos to the defense for creating zeros on the opponents side of the 2nd half ledger. I see a lot of positives going forward, while some on here, seem content on dwelling on a most, unremarkable 1st half.

The semifinal game getting moved from the Rose Bowl to Dallas. Good chance that’s where the Buckeyes will be. The game is moved from a wide open OUTDOOR stadium to an enclosed INDOOR stadium. Following the science??? Nah, Dallas is allowed 12,000 fans by Texas' Republican governor. Pasadena only allowed 3,000 fans by California's Democratic Socialist governor. CFP is following the $$$$.

Well the match-ups are set and the Buckeyes get Dabo for a third time. Will this be the day/game??
I like the Buckeyes chances with the running attack of Sermon. I have to wonder though what took so long. Fields if he wants to pick up his draft stock needs, let me rephrase that, has to have a hesitant performance.

I have been reading some of the comments about the final 4 and I’m just going to say this.....
I’d put the Gators at #4 before any other team, based on how they played Bama.

They would have had to pull off the upset vs. Bama. A three loss team will never make the playoffs, especially with a loss to a 3-6 team. The Florida/Bama game, will be a great reference for Bama's playoff opponents.

One thing is for certain, Herbstreit will say the name “Brent Venables “between 10-15 times during the game if he’s on the broadcast. Not for anything other than he loves saying his name. Strangest thing ever! No other Assistant coach name gets Herbys attention more.

I'm interested how OSU will counter the guru, Brent Venables. It doesn't matter. Fowler and Herbstreit will mention his name to the point either you're: 1)blue in the face and/or 2) inebriated because one took advantage of this moment to use this as a drinking game. Brent Venables Y'all drink... Edit: I meant to quote Bighoss. I'm not drunk....

This will make you guys drink. I was thinking during the Clemson/ND game that Day should use a few of Vennawhoever's plays against Dab U.

#8 Cincinnati up 14-10 at the half vs #9 Georgia in a Bowl Game played in Georgia.
Doesn't matter what happens in the 2nd half, Cincinnati proved the AAC is getting the shaft when they go undefeated. UCF a couple years back and now Cincinnati. It's time for a 6 team playoff. Only Conference Champs allowed in. Then these Group of 5 teams will get their shot.

It absolutely matters what happens in second half. I’m not making any predictions but the second can make your point or completely destroy it.

Cincy proved in the 1st half they belong. They belong way more than 8-4 Florida that eSECpn told us should be in the playoff.

Cincy’s defense is keeping them in the game. Their offense has looked absolutely terrible in the second half.

I wasn't taking any sides. My point was a lot can happen in the second half of a game. Had Cinci been blown out in the last 2 quarters they lose credibility that they were already TRYING to get.
