The Indians will host the Yankees in this first of its kind, 3 game Wild Card series. All 3 games (if it goes that far) will be in Cleveland, with the Tribe having last at bat for all 3. The winner will face the 1 vs. 8 winner in the ALDS in San Diego.
It will be the 5th time the Indians have faced the Yankees in the postseason (2-2 in those meetings: 2-1 ALDS, 0-1 ALCS)
Game 1 - Tue 9/29 - Bieber Game 2 - Wed 9/30 - Carrasco Game 3 - Thu 10/1 - Plesac
Times TBA, TV will be ESPN or TBS
Also, word is that Alomar will continue managing the team in the postseason.

It looks like the Yankees are going with Gerrit Cole, Masahiro Tanaka and TBD.

Tribe always struggles against Tanaka. Tough matchup vs Cole too. Could be very short series

"Very short"?? Two games instead of three?

Well, that was ugly. Fortunately it was only 1 game but they’d better start pitching the Yankees inside or by this time tomorrow night it’ll be all over.

Who would have thought we'd score 12 runs across 2 games.......but still get outscored by MF'ing 10
Complete choke job by the entire pitching staff
And with that the Indians have lost 8 consecutive playoff games dating back to 2017. Though I guess it could be worse, Minnesota has lost 18 straight dating back to 2004.

What an embarrassing show of fielding in the 8th and 9th inning.

i thought this was a bad matchup for the tribe with the yankees getting all their injured back and with their pitching totally colla[psing and some bad defense the tribe was doomed. i felt the tribe would of matched up better with oakland because oakland had about the same team batting average as the tribe around .227 and even tampa bay who the tribe matched in pitching and tampa only hit .245 in regular season but we would never know. it wouldnt suprise me that the yankees will go all the way to the world series.but as i see it,i think lindor will be gone, will carlos santana be back next year .how much cleanup of the tribe will there be.

As was mentioned on the STO report on the tribe, Cleveland seemed nervous and not used to being in the postseason. Well, they only missed last year, and had made it how many years previously? They choked and had no clutch hitting except for Naron. Pitching was even worse. It seems typical for Cleveland: hype up Beaber or Carrasco and the roof caves in.

The Central wasn't as good as it looked, playing themselves most games.

The Central wasn't as good as it looked, playing themselves most games. So far the AL and NL Central teams are a combined 2-13 in these Wild Card Series games, with 6 of the 7 qualified teams already being eliminated. If St. Louis doesn't win tonight it will be all 7 eliminated.
